Small balcony /fake grass ?
Comments (5)You could play with fake grass; have a look at this thread and see what they've done: https://www.houzz.co.uk/discussions/balcony-makeover-dsvw-vd~534450 The beauty of the fake grass is that you don't have to lay it like a carpet, you can cut it any way you like or just have some under your bistro table and chairs as a 'green rug'. I had fun with it in my back garden; the space was too small to have a lawn (last 2 photos). Bought the astro-turf in B&Q (£15/sqm) - so far it behaved quite well :)) Hope this helps. Good luck!...See MoreWhat is the cheapest alternative to grass ,please?
Comments (3)Then I would definitely consider some form of gravel, even resin bound gravel - you can get a variety of different colours which can brighten up the front of a house, still provide soak away drainage and is very low maintenance...See MoreArtificial grass
Comments (24)I laid my own last year. Like others, I also put sub-base down first (on top of levelled ground), compacted it (hired a machine), ensured it was level, laid sand over the top, then a good weed-proof membrane on top of that. I used one large section (to save gluing), tagged edges into the ground (around perimeter of the grass), then 'dressed' it with sharp/fine sand (many neglect this but it helps prevent flattening of the grass) -- do this when dry of course. The kids love it and, they don't get muddy! The only maintenance I've had to do so far is sweep leaves up. The garden's just about getting there (had to show pics as quite proud of the transformation!). Addition of sub-base (MOT type 1) below: Levelled, compacted, then sand laid level (and, again, compacted) on top of MOT1: Once that was done, laid weed-proof membrane on top: Grass went on top of the membrane (retained around the perimeter). 'Dressed' the grass with sharp/fine sand after that (when dry!). (Will finish adding plants when spring's properly here!)...See MorePrivacy screen suggestions please... Climber, hedge, grasses?
Comments (6)Hi, I would recommend the Ivy Screens. I will let you read it but basically... - Non-invasive variety of Ivy used (so is very easy to maintain) - Easy to install with lightweight frames - Instant effect - Evergreen for year round cover - Narrow screens, ideal for small spaces - Environmentally friendly - Great wall cover - Fantastic security due to galvanised metal frame (with a ten year guarantee) I used one similarly for a client and also in my Grand Designs Room set last year. https://www.hedgesdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Ivy_Screens.html...See MoreEDGEHOGARDENS
