Are the cabinets painted the same color as the walls?

No they are not the same color - the cabinets have a glaze and the walls are just a shade deeper tone. Thanks for inquiring!

Hi! My bedroom is a really odd shape with many doors because of built in wardrobes in the eaves. We have curved walls into ceilings on most walls so it’s impossible to find the end of wall and the start of the ceiling! I have chosen Little Greene Livid colour for the walls to paint half height with brilliant white for the ceiling and top part of the walls. (which we have already done) Hubby and I are thinking that we might like to paint the ceiling and all the walls the same Livid colour. Would it look ridiculous? Should we leave all the wood work white or paint it exactly the same colour? I have attached a couple of pictures of the oddly shaped room, and one of inspiration. Forgive the mess of my pictures!. Where the bed is in my picture will be dressing table or chair (I am thinking of feature wallpapering that wall because it is a’flat’ wall) and a different bed will go in front of the wall with the wooden shelf on top. The room is north facing and we like that it doesn’t get a lot of light! But the window is white PVC so I am wondering if we should stick the white woodwork.. Thanks for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts!

If you have beautiful period detailing, lovely coving etc then you can draw attention to them by using a contrast. If they are pale and the walls are dark (and vice versa) the contrast will be very strong. However, if the coving and skirting is nothing special then drawing attention to them might be the wrong thing to do. There's no right or wrong answer. With Farrow and Ball colours, then there are lots of options to pick out s slightly darker or slightly lighter version of the same hue. Does this make sense?

Hi Joanne, Questions to ask yourself are Would you like the room to be : - brighter or darker - cosy or fresh - feel larger or smaller - feel warmer or cooler - feel cheery, neutral or moody Also which way is the room orientated north? What are the other colours that are in the rest of the house? If these colours are all cohesive the spaces will link well and the house will feel larger. Interior Designers can offer a colour consultation - this is brief example of some of the factors that should be considered but the full service is best in person as the designer can get the feel for the space and samples can be viewed in the correct light which makes all the difference. I agree with the others - go for it! It’s going to look fab! I like the dull greens more than the more foresty greens, I had a bathroom painted that colour many years ago, and I think it’s less likely to go out of fashion. It’s verging on being a dark neutral.
