Floors and worktops

Hello! This is a beautiful palette! May I ask you what worktop you have gone for here and also what stone flooring you have? I'd love both in my home!!

Hi, the worktop is 'Ivory Spice' granite, and the flooring is 'Mazzano Tumbled' marble. We hope this helps.

Hi Lou Ella, These colours will look great for your kitchen. As an alternative, if you haven’t already bought the paint, how about trying Dulux’s Frosted Steel, teamed with the darker shade of Misty Mirror? Both these shades have blue undertones in them so will sit nicely next to your blue kitchen tiles. For wall colours in a kitchen, I’d suggest using our Kitchen+ Matt finish as this is 10 times tougher than our conventional matt and silk emulsion paint, and is stain and grease resistant to withstand common household stains such as tea, coffee etc. If you also wanted a quick update to your cupboards, you could try painting them in our Eggshell paint in the Frosted Steel colour, which will really tie it all together Make sure you prime your cupboards first with Dulux’s Primer and Undercoat for Multi-Surfaces to make sure the paint has something to stick to. Today, I got out all my F&B sample pots and painted those on cards. There are too many to list but around 7 colours in the grey/greige family. However to my surprise there is a company near me that does the full range of Little Greene Paints! I went to take a look through their samples and came up with these neutral/greys. I took a floor tile with me which the samples are sitting on top of in the picture. After looking through them all I decided to buy Slaked Lime 105, Slaked Lime Dark 151 and Rolling Fog 143 to paint on cards at home and put them in different areas of the room, against cupboards and furniture etc. One of the colours appear to blend best with the floor and the other blends better with the worktop...which is the best option? I’m guessing the floor? Also, if I tried the darker shade of either colour on one wall, for the lighter neutral walls should I use the same colour but the lighter version of the colour Example - Rolling Fog143 (darker wall) then Rolling Fog Pale158?

Hi Sarah, Huge rug under dining table - big yes! As I mentioned before, just make sure it it doesn't have a deep pile and is fairly easy to clean / hoover. This will break up the black considerably! The rug size needs to be big enough to pull all your chairs out and they still sit on the rug - that's the minimum right size. Just a thought about finding the right paint colour for your walls and cabinets to brighten everything up. When my family took a trip down to cornwall, we stayed in this lovely cottage in the country-side. The cottage had small little deep windows, so didn't get much light in. However the cottage was so bright, warm & crisp. It had been painted a white that really really worked - white can be tricky to get right. So I called the owners of the cottage to see if they had a paint can laying around so I could find out the exact colour. It was straight Brilliant White - standard paint you can get for kitchens, walls, ceilings, masonry, etc in whatever finish you need (matt, sheen, semi-gloss or gloss). I've used it a couple of times sinse to freshen up or update an area, to make small spaces pop, or just to bring a whole space that crisp - perfect white look to show off art and objects (it is one of the few whites that can do so well as art and objects usually look dull or get lost with a plain white background). This might help with your project as it is the best paint for reflecting light and brightening your areas - but it is bright - so you will have to do a test area to see if it is too bright for you, in which case go with a white toned down from that. Think the rug(s) & the paint colour change of walls & cabinets will work the best for you since you've spent a lot on your interior already and your husband likes it as is - it is hard to justify large costs when your partner thinks it is great and you've already spent a lot.. Hi, its a really nice space I know you mentioned you like the country style, you could incoporporate some wooden paneling similar to the image below for your wall and backsplash as it give a rustic vibe. Alternativly sage green tiles would lokk really nice and still keep the space feeling bright. I think a sage green would work really well with your white units and soften the black cooker (Ive added an image below). It would also work with either the grey floor you currently have or the beige travestine tiles if you did decide to continue them from your hallway. You could then add some sage accents like a clock, lights etc to bring the scheme together (taking inspiration from the below image.) And adding a plant maybe a Fern in a rustic pot will bring the country vibe into your space. Im not sure what your current units are made from but you could look into pianting some of the units to bring the colour scheme together. Hope this helps Louise
