Wall panelling

I have been exploring different option for refreshing the walls of my apartment and I've decided that Id like some panelling done in the hallway. Can't seem to find anywhere that does it other that these really small contracting company's with very dodgy, amateurish websites! I would have though wicked, B&Q, etc. would offer this too, but appears I was wrong...does anyone know of a trusted company/organisation that could do this for me?

That's very helpful minnie thank you. Glad to hear the installation is not as difficult as I expected as my partner is useless at diy too! I'll explore my options in detail when closer to moving in day. Thank you for the link OnePlan.

Any good local joiner should be able to undertake the fitting of the paneling. To be honest, many local tradespersons neither have the time nor inclination to create fancy websites. Good ones are busy and often dont see the benefit of a website.
The other side of your dilemma is the design of the panelling, whilst there may be many who can fit it, style, proportions and dimensions are important.
Have you considered speaking to a local interior designer, they should have the ability to design and draw up your panelling and should also have access to good trusted tradespeople to fit

I think you could do a two flanking a giant one to pick out the furniture, maybe like this: Uses the first three colour tests on the wall and some antiqued mirror infill for the sides, you could even incorporate LED strip lighting into the panel Beeding to breath a gentle mood light onto the wall and mirrors? The light switch could be easily dealt with, if you're laying panelling onto the wall just make sure its about the same thickness as the switch and its cut to fit flush around it, you can then paint the fitting to match, leave as is or change it to a stylish one to match the room.

Either undercoat or prime first. Depending on what colour you are after if it's a standard off the shelf colour then most should be suitable - I have always found F&B to offer great coverage and consistency painting both wall and wood. Otherwise I cannot recommend Little Greene enough they have some great colours and paints suitable for wood and walls. Thanks for the info and link, Sonia, much appreciated :-) They are very strange aren't they! But the house may be just that much older than the usual Victorian houses I've seen, so maybe these are Arts & Crafts mouldings. I just think the mouldings and some of the dadorails are so thin that they aren't in keeping with the size of the rooms the way the cornices and skirting boards are, and maybe that is why they are additions. Thanks again!

Thank you for coming back to me. I haven't been in touch with an interior designer. I only recently had my offer accepted but won't complete until end of the year. Am in the meantime just considering the work I need to do to understand the budget and resource needed to accomplish this. Will inquire about some interior designers. Thanks again :)

Hi. If you google ŵall panelling there are a few companies that come up. MTM would be better to fit to your ŵall however if you're on a budget the online companies are fine. I may (!) have used fine panel for a small ŵall in my hall my old house. You install it yourself which is fairly easy. You may have to do 1/2 cuts to fit. My husband is useless at diy so I persuaded the company to cut a panel to fit with me taking responsibility for any error. After that it was really just using adhesive from memory which I did with the help of my son and his friend (to hold it whilst the adhesive went off!) and then paint it. I think (!) the rules for panelling are either end 1/3 or 2/3 height. If you have something that finishes halfway up the ŵall it will split the room in half. This is where the mtm may come in if you're in a new build for example with low ceilings but I think different heights may be available but don't quote me on that! Alternatively order online and get a handy man to fit.
