Need help with choosing a colour for my living room
Comments (20)maria galvano thank you, I love them too and make me smile whenever I look at them, I bought them from a Bedouin woman in Petra (Jordan). They remind me of an amazing trip to Syria and Jordan some years ago, travelling independently using public transport and meeting amazing people along the way, both locals and tourists. Loved Petra so much and the local Bedouin people, went back for a second day to have another look around as well as sit and drink mint tea and listen to amazing stories ... and yes, they make my home feel alive as most things in it have some connection to a life lived. Thank you again....See MorePlease help me with colour scheme for my house
Comments (20)I was a die hard F&B fan - painted numerous houses solely in F&B for the finish etc. HOWEVER due to budget constraints, a current offer at Homebase on Dulux paint (inc. mix) , and the fact i'm painting an entire 3 storey house i experimented with colour matching F&B colours - specifically Cornforth White, Purebeck Stone, Ammonite and Pink Ground. Opting for the Endurance Matt and Flat Matt finishes by Dulux i was pleasantly surprised by the results. The colour match was pretty much spot on - i would caveat that the Dulux colour match won't produce matching finishes for all colours. For example Dulux couldn't match a flat eggshell in the Cornforth White so we bought Estate Eggshell from F&B and it goes perfectly well with the walls in the matched Dulux Endurance Matt. In the master bedroom we choose to use F&B Cornforth White and Pink Ground and estate emulsion and I felt it was a thinner paint than the Dulux! The added benefit of the Dulux colour match is that they can provide a number of different more durable finishes. Comments (19)I love that your husband fitted your kitchen! It looks great. Completely understand not wanting to lose the bright and vibrant Fuchsia, it seems like your home is rather vibrant and fun. My recommendation would be to have one feature wall in the Fuchsia (I would advise the one behind the armchair) as this would keep the fun whilst picking up the accents of your table runner and kitchen accessories. I would then paint the walls by the window a grey to complement the colour used in the kitchen. To compliment your curtains (instead of having to buy new ones) once you have toned down the walls, I would consider adding a throw pillow in a plain lime colour on the armchair to pick up the colour of the curtain. It is a very personal choice, but that would be my recommendation :) I hope it helps!...See Morehelp with paint colours my living room
Comments (7)I’d look at a green. That would go nice with the grey furniture. F&B Cromarty is a nice green, bright in colour so not oppressive like some greens that have a tint of grey in them. Johnstones do a colour match which is identical at a portion of the cost. Failing that look at Dulux Tranquil Dawn but it does tend to look different in differ lights....See Moretamp75
