How to hide pipes (or make them less of an eyesore?)
Comments (13)if you can't put the pipes in the wall, and changing everything to pretty copper is out of budget (copper gets $$$ quick), it may be possible to paint the pipe with a metallic finish paint to make it LOOK like it's a decorative feature. the copper metallic paints aren't horrible, but next to real copper, fall short. the chrome or stainless paints though, look pretty good. good luck!...See MoreHelp us stop our new kitchen from going clinical!
Comments (43)I thought I'd update everyone as to what we settled on as most of you won't have seen the finished post. Went went for Little Greene French Pale Grey on the walls and then a Grey Quartz worktop which had worked quite well. To stop it from being clinical, we opted for some textured wallpaper in the dining area which is Bala Storm (I think) from John Lewis. We then added some natural tones using a wooden table, and then Vitra chairs. Along with wooden fruit bowl etc. The main window will have wooden venetian blinds, and the bay windows will probably be done in a darker grey material as the perfect fit style blinds you find in conservatories...See MoreI think I've given up - Living Room v Man
Comments (27)We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Comments (4)You do not necessarily have to fully bed all the patio slabs. Ours have a sort of dot and dab underneath. Very annoying when you accidentally drive over them as it causes cracking. There are so many ways to do this. I think I would over order the cement,sand and any other materials just using square meterage and then allow 10% extra for waste and learning how to mix it properly. Don't feel massively pressured by the time frame. Its more pressure you don't need the first time. Do it properly and just do as much as you can in your timeframe. The weather might not play ball either. Just try and stop in a logical sequence if you need to. Think about access. Think about logistics too to make it as easy for you as possible. Paving slabs will be heavy so you don't want to have to carry them too far for instance. I have found Travis Perkins to be very helpful with materials in the past....See MoreVertise
