How subtle are you when it comes to your wedding photos? Have you or will you put them in a part of your house where everyone can share your wedding day experience or are you more subtle about it and put them in your bedroom?

Comments (17)My kitchen is small - just under 11ft x 11ft and it was superbly designed. For the first time ever I have everything I need in an easy to reach organised space. I have a tall larder unit which is priceless and my cupboards reach back into the corners (and it's in these that I store my rarely used crockery.) Comments (61)I love making bread. Like someone else commented, it is very therapeutic. I have a bread machine which I use constantly. I also do some breads by hand. I make white bread for my other half, spelt loaves or wholemeal for me using a variety of seeds or honey, molasses, bran, oats etc. I also make bread rolls, croissant, baguette, tortilla (which takes seconds by hand and is then used to make wraps, enchiladas or quesadillas). I also make Pide (Turkish bread), roti chani(paratha), flatbread, roti, puri, bhatura, chapatti, Irish soda bread, dried fruit soda, boxy (an Irish potato bread usually eaten at Halloween), St Vincent bakes, Scotch pancakes, crepes, scones, pizza base, ciabatta and focaccia. I like Matthews Cotswold flour which I get in Aldi when they have it or on Amazon. I bought from Shipton Mill during lockdown as I had very little white and wholemeal flour left. They were excellent, reasonably priced as well. I had been struggling to find flour and Amazon had doubled the price of the Matthews ones and I couldn't get through to Matthews directly. I buy 12-16 kg at a time usually of the flours I use the most. I currently have about 10 different types of flours I am using. We never buy bread any more and my other half finds homemade bread more filling so he eats less and is full quicker. Even the dog comes running when I slice a new loaf. He only gets a few crumbs but he loves it. I would love to go on a bread making or even a pastry course as I want to learn more. One bread I haven't mastered yet is naan bread. I am wondering about buying a pizza oven as I think a standard oven can't do it is well. Or maybe I just haven't found the right recipe yet....See MorePOLL: How often do you redecorate in your home?
Comments (9)Angelboyman nails it for me. We have been in this house 32 years and have done everything at least once from renewing the roof and windows to digging out the floor, putting in a damp course and installing central heating. The ensuing recoration has been a "classic" traditional colour-scheme of soft barley and sage green to suit the era the house was built. It suits us down to the ground and we are not distracted by outdated decor. We give it a lick of paint when it needs it. The house is the only one in this Victorian terrace to have retained many original features such as picture rails, dado, marble fireplace and ceiling rose, but internal doors were sadly a victim of the dreaded Fire Certificate and other "improvements", which also mean all the features inc. windows and front door were not retained as we would have wished and we have also had to cover the pine floors we so lovingly restored with carpets and vinyl because they needed protecting from high-heels and countless sandy feet. We also dopted the German fashion for wood-chipping and painting what were pretty uneven walls. They have been over-painted so often, the texture is barely visible and it has withstood the test of time. We are in a seaside location, so there has been heavy wear and tear from a couple of generations of holiday making friends and relatives as well as our own family. The kitchen is the biggest challenge being north-facing with practically no light and whilst it was being excavated we made the bathroom into a temporary kitchen, but never restored it, so now we have two showers and three toilets in the house, but no bath! The room is a designated "laundry room" which is also a tool store, boiler and hobby room. The house will soon be on the market, so redecoration will not be our choice. 7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoI plan to do something a lot like this on a wall at the top of our hallway which you see when going up the stairs. Will have one or two photos from the wedding day along with some family photos and favourite holiday pics (we have some incredible ones from our trips to Iceland and would be a shame to never see them).
99% of the time its just us in our home so I don't see the issue with having some photos up that bring back good memories. Though I'm not keen on giant canvasses of wedding photos in living rooms etc as I think it would feel rather odd being surround by large photos of yourself!
