Painting UVPC windows black (interior only)

Hi! I have gone for a industrial/ brooklyn loft style for my newly purchased flat. I'm almost finished with it but the windows are really bothering me (they just don't fit the style). I would love to paint the UVPC part of the windows (not sure what its called) black. This is basically the plastic part that holds the window up. I would then keep the window frame (which is wooden) white.

Is this possible? Has anyone done it? I just bought this primer:

Will this be sufficient? After the primer can I just use any paint on top or do I need another undercoat? I have some black matt radiator spray paint. Will this do the trick?

Hi, the paint in your link says it is OK for UPVC so it should be fine. When i painted mine i used Zinsser Bullseye 123, another Houzz user recommended Zinsser Shellac Primer... Once you have the base paint on then you can use any paint on top... I used a paint suitable for metal and wood.

One question though... Are you sure about the black? UPVC frames are usually quite thick (as opposed to the metal frames you would find in a typical loft/industrial conversion)... It might mean it doesnt quite look right...

@Tani H-S Most professionals that refurbish uPVC windows will spray. You need the right equipment, you must prepare the surfaces properly before applying and most importantly you need the right paint (that properly bonds to the surface, has UV protection and thermal movement elasticity). Can you live with them as wood for a few months first ? As a little natural element in the kitchen might be nice ? You can add white or black fittings to the window.

Well AJ, I am really tempted, I know with coloured doors it is all about the finish, but we do have professional decorators, so it might be now or never, should it be properly black or a very dark grey? thing is, my husband usually lets me get on with it, I think I should listen when he is really doubtful. On the other hand, we have to do the whole house because of the rewiring, so it is an opportunity for coherence and unity instead of our usual mishmash. Dunno
