Which wallpaper do you like better?

Because I am an idiot who can't measure things, I just discovered that the wallpaper (option 1) I chose for the bottom half of our hall, under the dado rail, will be really expensive to use.

I have already spent £200 on it and can't return it but need maybe triple.

So, was thinking of just cutting my losses and using it as a feature wall somewhere else and buying something else (option 2). It's just as expensive, but I have a voucher for the store for £100.

Pros of option 1: I already have spent money on it. It's self-adhesive so I don't have to use wallpaper paste. It's handmade so is quite unusual.

Pros of option 2: I *think* this one may be better quality, it's a designer make so while it will cost around the same I'll feel more excited by it, I have a £100 voucher for the shop.

I could kick myself for doing this. Such a stupid waste of money. BUT, we've freecycled/eBayed/Gumtree-d everything else we've bought so this and a mint green smeg fridge was my only indulgence.

It's a very bold look so I think if you're going to go for it then go for it with the bolder black and white design. Try moving both of your sofas forward a few inches to give the curtains a little space. You could add a baroque style mirror on the dining wall to zone that area, perhaps a round or round'ish one. I'd also accessorise the table. If you wanted to expand the look further than switch the White cabinet for a Louis style one in a bold colour which would pop (hate that word but can't think of another!) against the wallpaper

See below the plan of the house as I bought it: Practically I have removed the partition walls as I wanted to open the space up and the wall between the bath and the kitchen as it was affected by damp. Here is how it looks now: I can play around only this space as the other walls are load bearing. One of the builders assured me we can chase the drain pipes without much hassle. The hallway would have some light through the kitchen door and its transom with the larger kitchen option. In case of the smaller kitchen, there would be plenty of light in the hallway from the bathroom and kitchen as I considered glass between kitchen and hallway. Thanks

I like both bold and simple depending on the room it is going in! :) For example in my hall I have a dove grey print from Laura Ashley which is a nice calming print to welcome you into my house but in our lounge I chose a darker bold coloured print to give it that hotel feeling - it really depends on the furniture and other textures you're putting it with. All a matter of opinion and how prints make you feel at home in your home! :)

thank you so much for your advice! so the structure is pretty much unchanged so it's not a new wall that was erected in between rooms. Walls are original, solid but when a hole is drilled in them, they do have this crumbly stuff that comes out...am I making ANY sense?! 😂🙃 He's basing his opinion on the flats that he's renovated and that he also bought and renovated his own flat on the same road as mine. I don't know if he was putting me off extra work to help me save money OR he didn't want to take on more work. I've had a few carpenters flake on me so I'm not sure which of these two it is- will see if I do get a quote from him or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ yes for the bedroom, papering on top and painting below the beading. The wallpaper I want alone is likely to cost £1000 so I would die if I buy it and then can't use it...😬
