Please help me with my bedroom
Comments (70)My first thought is that the bed looks a little close to the furniture across from the foot of it. I might try the bed on the window wall and instead of the piece on the wall that has the door, eliminate it and get two bedside table pieces with storage to accommodate whatever you were going to store in the piece across from the foot of the bed in your plan. I like beige and gray schemes in the bedroom too, and find some live green plants add a perfect spot of color, or perhaps a kind of acid green silk texture throw pillow. My suggestion is to browse Houzz photos and save the color schemes that you really love! Adding something sparkly will pep up a design that you think is too monochromatic as well - some silver or crystal bling? I added some bling-y chandeliers on either side of the bed in one of my bedrooms, which is fairly monochromatic in beige and gray tones. Some of the throw pillows also have a silvery touch in them....See MorePlease help with bedroom decor!!!
Comments (10)Hi Sophie. Have you considered a feature wall for behind the bed? I think a faux panelling looks great with this style of bed. You could team it with Something like ammonite by farrow and ball or a warm white or pale grey. A few pics in your ideabook have wood floors but if this is out maybe look at a colour similar to the padded headboard but a shade or so lighter, a sisal might be nice for texture. You seem to like neutrals so I'd mix shades of the grey and beige for curtains and accessories but add different textures and patterns. I think the bed will look great with a couple of throws and a few cushions. Id get samples of everything though to see how the colours work together. Definitely wood for the chest, perhaps antique for a bit more character? Depending on how much storage you need these side tables with antique mirror tops would look nice as bedsides and perhaps a velvet chair for the bay? A chandelier would look lovely or a textured contemporary pendant light, there are a couple of nice feather ones around :)...See MoreBasement bedroom decor help urgently needed please!
Comments (6)Hi. I think any dark, rich colour could work well (would paint the skirts in the wall colour) but if you didn't want to paint the furniture either a really deep teal or inky blue would work well. Perhaps use ochre or burnt orange as accent colours or moss or emerald/grass green work really well with an inky blue. I assume the ceilings aren't tanked so you'll need a ceiling fix pole? Having floor to ceiling curtains will make it feel taller. I'd also have a tall portrait leaner mirror on the wall opposite the window to make it feel taller and to bounce light (do you know where the stud work is for attaching things to walls?) Could you have a light weight canvas hung on the chimney breast attached with those sticky pads? Agree re lighting and would also add 1/2 floor lamps. Is an electric stove in budget for the chimney? My only reservation is dark walls against a white ceiling. I think my basement is the same height and I deliberated for ages and in the end painted it all white :) there is an argument that dark ceilings can create depth as you can't see where they end.. also an argument re white gloss or Matt finish for the ceilings! If you did go for dark walls though i might consider a mid shade for the ceiling...See MorePlease help me with my bedroom?
Comments (18)Thanks Carolina..love the way you've used the photo..very impressive . So many ideas to look at and I think I have a mirror exactly like that somewhere. Lovely bedside tables too..thanks so much. Minnie great colours ..I like those patterns and fabrics a lot. Ive been thinking about a bed end stool..will keep an eye out for one. The shade is new and so much bigger than I thought it would be..should have measured. I kind of like the bohemian look of it to be honest ..thanks so much ....See MoreUser
