Pendant lighting in bedrooms

We have a typical 3 bed 1930s semi. In both large bedrooms the pendant lights were installed very close to the windows (perhaps for privacy). In the square front bedroom we moved the pendant to the centre of the room. I'm thinking about getting some more wiring work done and wondering whether to move the pendant in the oblong back bedroom, or install another pendant at the other end of the room?

Hello,

You could consider having a central room light and matching pendants either side of the bed...

I guess the photo isn't great in terms of giving ideas on dimensions as you can see the tv perfectly from the sofa (it's on a swivel). We have the decor sorted too with regards to art and mirrors, like I said, we only just finished fitting it so not everything is up yet....give us a chance! :) We have now got some pendant lights that look perfect so thanks for all comments but help is no longer needed xx

Wow Sarah that looks absolutely brilliant! Similar position as the lights in the link that Twyla sent look gorgeous but a bit over my budget (we're doing an extension and literally everything has come in over budget 😩) How lovely to make your own, I think I'm going to attempt it! Fair point about cleaning Lucy. We have a bubble chandelier in our bedroom and I read a suggestion that using a hairdryer on the cool setting is a way to get the dust of. Ours have not been up that long and so far dust isn’t an issue, I’ve used the dryer once and flicked a feather duster around them. Not sure how they would be in a kitchen, given the potential for grease in the air. When we hung ours I wore a pair of cotton gloves and will probably wear them to wipe each globe from time to time. But they are spectacular and every evening when I turn the on, I feel great joy!

Thanks. I should've said that it's going to be a shared kids bedroom. The beds will move around as they grow up (singles then bunk beds later), so I don't want to commit to fixed bedside lights. Just wondering if two pendants would look daft or actually help light a long room with a window at one end. The ceiling will need redecorating anyway to get rid of a hideous polystyrene ceiling rose
