help me decide where to put my TV in this living room
Comments (4)yes, it would in terms of size. My concern is that all the sitting area then would end up oriented towards that area, and the room might look weird or asymmetrical...? I am enclosing a few more picture of the fireplace area seen from the front, so that you can judge better. The other alternative that comes to mind would be to make the fireplace wall a bit wider, so that it fits the TV above... do you think that´s possible? Thanks so much!...See MoreLink get rooms - North east and west facing
Comments (3)At the moment the kitchen walls are F&B New White which is ok but not suitable for the adjacent rooms as it is too yellow looking as I need to take the oatmeal sofa in the living room into consideration. The three rooms lead into each other and are open plan to each other. The living room is the darkest and the others have good light. Kitchen is to the left of dining room and living room is behind dining room. The house is cottage style but no beams...See MoreCan't decide on colour scheme for new kitchen!
Comments (16)I will have to have a look at the paint samples again as can’t remember all the tones. I’m sure we had Cornforth on our interior doors and it was a lilac tone grey in some lights? Anyone back that up? Nice colour but have to be careful what you pair it with. I don’t personally think you have to match your kitchen to your woodwork colour in the adjacent room unless you really like the colour and had envisaged it for your units? Re the finish. At least if you get them sprayed up locally, you can always pop a door over to get done which is cheaper than having to buy a new door via the kitchen company. That’s the only reason I wanted to paint my own units ie because it’s so hard to touch up sprayed units as they just don’t blend in the same....See MoreHelp with kitchen colours/ design in north / north west facing room??!
Comments (2)Hi! We have a north facing kitchen/dining/living area with a patio facing west and a window on the east side. We went for a lighter colour (slipper satin) on the kitchen units as they are at the 'back' of the room (ie you enter the kitchen from the hallway, then the living/dining area is at the patio/garden end). It is a lovely soft off white and doesn't look cream because of the cooler light north facing rooms get. We opted for Drop Cloth (also F&B) on walls which a lot of people comment on as it looks nice and warm and not too dark nor too pale. Our accent colour on the island/kitchen peninsula is Railings as I have other dark blue accents in my furnishings. If you are going for Downpipe on the island, I would possibly go for Strong White on your units as Ammonite can look quite cold. I have used S White on both walls and woodwork in other areas of my home and love it. Farrow & Ball told me it suits north light well, as does Wimborne White - which is a lovely warm white. Have you tried a sample of it at all? As for the tiles, I much prefer the blanc ones, think they look more modern. I have attached pics of my kitchen and hallway (which has strong white). I also have an instagram page Dekko Bird you could see more pics on. Hope this helps a little! keira x...See Moremrsmcee74
