Bed disaster! Advice desperately wanted!
Comments (143)Well, maybe when the kitchen stuff is out you can try different options (ones you want to try) in the wardrobe area and see what you like best. (Actually, there isn't that much stuff next to wardrobe.....up to you, though. Hmmmm. In the meantime, I think you could look for hardware for the cabinets and something for the end of the bed that isn't green....See MoreChenille or crushed velvet headboard?
Comments (40)Hey Tani. That's a shame you haven't found one yet. I finally found window shutters tall enough this week after month of searching ( and on the same day of emailing for a quote to have them made typically!) I do think the upholstered frame would be relatively quick and easy? In terms of the door, if you go for a single door, I would pop a bit of architrave on top. I Think the silver leaf could be very expensive and the delicacy of it may be at odds with the thickness of the door ( or there again that could actually make it work!). I quite like the idea of double doors but how tall is the ŵall? I think if you go for that option I would personally have a very distressed effect with white and grey paint, something like the attached ( hopefully less work). I would pile on the texture with the bed though https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/201767350/headboard-vintage-door-replica-by-foo?ref=market...See MoreHeadboards

Comments (8)Of course if this is a rarely used room you want to deliver a look on a budget and reuse what you can do I understand completely about painting the bed head wall. There is however a rational for painting the window wall that I think was missed by an earlier poster on the thread- When sat in bed no one notices the colour the wall behind it. Blue is a perfect, restful shade for a bedroom at night and should be seen. You are proposing a deep colour in a room with a modest window - a pale colour opposite the window would reflect more light than a dark one. Dark colours are brilliant for framing other objects and it is that contrast that makes it interesting - in your room the window is bigger than the headboard which makes it the better object to frame- personally I also think the dark colour would have been good for disguising the radiator that is fairly noticeable on a pale wall. What ever you decide I wish you the best of luck....See Morecreativeorg
