Help with love seat (fabric) and sofa (leather) combinations

I would love a statement love seat for my new living room ( 1930's built - oak block flooring-bay window etc ). On looking around, if i want a 'statement ' colour / print i will have to have fabric one. I have a 2year old and newborn so ultimately if i get one , it would need to be matched with a leather three /four seated sofa to compliment it as full fabric is just too much to cope with and would be ruined immediately. also i don't want to spend a fortune. Open to any colours, does anyone have any ideas as to 1) what would look nice , would like the seat and sofa to compliment each other rather than a complete mismatch 2) where to look for reasonably priced items.
