8 years agoUnder floor heating?? We do not find Vinyl or Tiles cold, after all, they can only be cold if the room is cold. Besides which, who doesn't still love a sumptuous bath mat?? There are some fabulous tiles about now that look like wood, they give the illusion of warmth due to their colour, likewise with the wood look vinyls. Just stay away from Laminate, doesn't do well in a bathroom due to the humidity etc

Comments (8)You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Comments (18)Porcelain is a tough tile which will not crack or break easily. they are very long lasting. vinyl is out dated and just doesn't look good. Your other option should be ceramic tiles. So it should be between ceramic and porcelain. I'd still recommend porcelain but ceramic is cheaper, that's the biggest advantage of ceramic. Comments (4)I have the Eternity brand of LVT fitted in my kitchen and it’s brilliant. My son has a different brand but it’s not one of the more well known and expensive brands. Personally I wouldn’t pay for a well known branded name if the cost was substantially higher. We had ours fitted by a flooring company as it does need fitting correctly. I watched him lay it and there is a knack. I steam mop mine. LVT is suggested for bathrooms....See More- PRO
