Different flooring types and can't match!

I've had a leak on my ground floor and need to replace the laminate flooring in the hall and WC. These rooms are next to the kitchen, which is already tiled in dark grey, the step in which is a reddish terracotta, and the white wood stairs. I've looked for the same tile as the kitchen to use throughout but can't find them.

Would it work to do different tiles in each room, the same tiling through the hall and WC, wood in the hall (same as on the middle floor) and tiles in the WC, or should I try something else entirely? Changing the toilet/sink and wallpaper so don't worry about them! Kitchen units are blue.

poor you, that looks like a household horror story.

How about a tile like this that has all the colours to link your disparate floor colours and would be really suitable for a loo and hall. I would absolutely go for the same flooring throughout. Also helps to make space bigger by having a uniform floor. The tiles that you have in your kitchen, will most probably look fabulous in both the hall and the kitchen. Good luck x

Hello, I would get a carpet in lighter colour and smaller than the one you have now. Overall the layout looks a bit funny, as the sofa is large as well so I could rather see a smaller square carpet. How your living area should be decorated that depends on you, which are your favourite styles and colour? Do you like contemporary, eclectic style perhaps? You could go for yellow, red, cream, white, grey. I would suggest you to mix an match colours a bit, that always gives a good look to any room. In your shoes probably what you've got pictured, but with one board as a division. Alternatively we'd rip the boards down individually to match the others on the flat bed saw. You could always ask a Timber merchant how much they'd charge to do the same, then they'd be an exact match.

Hi, I think this is a decision based upon how you like your house set up. I personally like a co-ordinated looks, in the sense that there's a basic layout in each room. If the rooms are small, id have yhe same floor through out but if they are larger may consider different flooring, personally speaking. Different flooring isnt bad but in too small spaces may just become overpowering or mix-match In our latest renovation, we kept the flooring the same in each rooms on the same floor but had a contrasting floor in the hallway which falls in the centre and so creates a nice divide. Thanks for the tips! Good idea on the mosaic with the different colours. I think I may have found a tile that's close enough to the kitchen to use in the bathroom, then I can use a different tile in the hallway so they aren't close enough to compare properly! Do you think that would make sense aesthetically? Unfortunately the kitchen tiles are proving a nightmare to match - all sorts of colours, slightly speckly, and I can't tell how much of that is just wear!
