Hi - we used Stone Age to fabricate this for us to our design. We have a good relationship with them and I'd highly recommend them.

Have you got stainless steel appliances or light fittings or handles ? As if you have then stainless steel would tie in with them ? I have a China sink and it's now a bit scratched - but 5mins with a bit of bleach brings it up looking fab again ! Basically which ever you choose, until they make Teflon coated sinks, is going to hold tea stains a bit ! So go with the look that you like best !

tapered floating vanity shelf?

For the en suite we need to find a slim sink and I quite like the floating shelves. I’d love a grey sink on a rich teak toned wood to match the dark/mid grey tiles I’m planning on having. I would ideally prefer both ends to taper with the sink coming out in the middle so I can have a longer useable ‘shelf’ (if that makes sense!) Trouble is, I can’t find anything like it online (UK) Also if I went for say a teak, how would that fair with water?? We had a veneer sink unit years ago and it was terrible ie bubbled

In our new kitchen we got a double drawer dishwasher, so we always have space for dirty stuff. Our tea towels and hand towels live on a pull out rail in the left hand cupboard (where the rinse aid and washing tablets also live) and washing up brush, washing up liquid and sponges & cloths, live under the sink in a drawer in the right hand cupboard. Everything gets done in the dishwasher, other than roasting pans, saucepans etc, which get hand washed, drained for a while and then finished off with the tea towel and put way more or less right away. Other than that, there's only our expensive wine glasses, that get washed and dried immediately. All of which tends to keep the area quite clear all the time. I would say that the greatest difference has been made by the double dishwasher, we always used to have dirty stuff hanging around waiting, either for the dishwashing to finish, or waiting for it to be emptied of clean stuff.
