Any idea what the paint colour is?

We have an Intoto magnolia glass kitchen and would love to know what that paint colour is as it looks great

Hi there, we asked our customer who told us it was Dulux Scrumptious Plum. It is rather scrumptious, isn't it :-)

I think using egg shell on new plaster that is not quite dry may have caused this, especially if it wasn't given an undercoat designed for new plaster. I do not use egg shell any more after something similar happened in my newly plastered kitchen. After you have scraped away the flakie bits and lightly sandpapered it down use a good emulsion like Crown. . My builder suggested I open all my windows every day for at least 15 minutes to ensure a good flow of air to reduce any condensation from new plaster/paint, this has become a habit.

I’m inclined to agree and think the purple a bit garish but see how it goes with second coat. End of the day it’s only paint and you can paint over it. You could also make the colour duller or less intense by getting a tin of the same brand/finish in a light or dark (depends how you’d like it) grey or beige colour and mix the purple in till you get to a colour you’re happier with. (I do this quite a lot, especially with tester pots on small projects). Personally I think a more muted colour would look nice, Dulux heartwood, soft truffle or mellow mocha for example (see pics) but that’s just my preference.

You can't choose paint from paint charts. It looks completely different on the wall and often looks different room to room because of natural light. I wouldn't worry too much. Timeless isn't cool, it's creamy as is Clunch. It's 'only' a holiday let, but of course you want everything to be perfect. It kind of depends what market you're going for. Lot's of people get a bit 'judgy' when they look at pics ( I do on Air BnB ). My wife has turned down places because the curtains won't block enough light in the bedroom etc, but i'm not sure even she has judged a paint colour tone yet.
