Bedside table suggestions

Hi,

I am in the process of decorating the main bedroom of my home and have hit a wall when trying to decide on bedside tables.

Due to the wardrobes we have built there isn't a huge amount of room one side so initially I considered ceiling pendant lights. Only issue being the cost of having an electrician chase the wires and then have the are re-plastered. Could get over this with wireless switches but that is another subject.

I have attached two images and would appreciate any suggestions on lights, tables, or other ideas such as floating shelves which may work. Looking to keep the room 50 shades of taupe but we do have a copper light fitting for the ceiling light.

Hi - are you set on having something matching either side of the bed? We had a similar issue so we turned a white wooden crate on its side on one side of the bed and put some books in it and a lamp on it and then the other side we had a small percentage me bedside unit that I painted white and we used the same lamp on so it pulled them together. The crate was small enough to use on the tight side.

Another option could be too build a shelf over the bed - I know the pic is showing a living room but the same principle applies

I also like the look lights in the other pic that deliberately go for an exposed cable look and would mean they are not actually restoring on a unit but they are not for everyone.

Hi. With the luxurious look you are trying to achieve I would go for something will a nice luxurious frame. Something working with the lamp bases and ceiling light materials. Mirrors work very well for spaces helping them appear lighter and larger. I would opt for one large one centred above the headboard. You could do three in a row if you wanted slightly smaller items. If you want to do then I would suggest you do one either side, slightly lower, above the side tables but you would then need something slightly higher above the bed to fill the gap. You would then use art work or a handing of some kind. I hope that helps. All the best.

Hi, I wouldn't go for anything Pine and this will be too mix match for the area. However, if you're looking for a bright room a White bedside would work great, providing a contrast against the lilac walls, if this isn't to your taste. A dark wood bedside would also suit. Looks like a good solid bed. Good idea to have the wardrobes painted, they look good apart from the colour and the handles (sorry). Could be worth changing them. Re bedside tables, I’m generally not a great fan of matching them (to the bed), but feel this is personal preference and getting mismatching right is not easy. I‘m sure others here will further advise. 😊

Hi Danielle. Thanks for the ideas. I do like the bottom picture just wasnt sure on the flex beng on show in such a pale room? we have copper and metal tones else where so a copper type dlex may work...it it exists. I also like the crate...its the right size for the space so may have to go with something like that. Add it to the list of things to do in the house.
