Help, how to decorate to go with my sofa?

Hi all. So I need some advice on how you would match or compliment this sofa. It's a large corner and I've only samples to show right now. The main is a grey with lots of accent cushions. The tartan are supposed to be grey but they are actually more of a dark green?! They also have yellow through them which i didnt know but stuck with it now. Doesnt show up in the pics green but it is. Ive currently got a dark grey feature wall which maybe has to go? And i was going to go greige but now im unsure. Currently black furniture which i hate but has to stay. And i have to have carpet, which needs replaced anyway. What lighting etc would you do? But I dont want it all too grey and black. Any advice on what you would do??? Photos: First left grey is main sofa and the rest are cushions.

It does depend on your taste, but I would go for contrasting rather than matching art - something that really pops out of the wall. We have a similar colour scheme to you in our sitting foom and I have gone for abstract art (which I recently discovered a love of). Sorry its not a very good pic of it, but I love the picture, and the colours suit and contrast with the room. There are some really good online retailers - this one was from King and McGaw.

yes I like the jungle idea possibly, though not sure if should keep with ivy as it matches whats currently there.. , not sure about the shelves or seating by the TV though. In the room next door there is an an 8 seater table, and a kitchen island, so its not as though this is the only place to have seating I guess. I like the ideas of natural look, almost Japanese, bamboo, bringing the garden in, just having difficulty with which wall colours, what to do with the post? keep white or make a colourful feature of it, and also what colour sofa bed, rug, paint on the walls to make everything blend in. It's so difficult, can't go for a lightish sofa, as it would just get too dirty, but I'm open to all ideas and very very much appreciate both yours and Rukmini's I have no idea how to put a room pic together like that so it helps massively. They have a lot of friends round, so a comfy rug /beanbags are also great, as long as we can also put them somewhere away too, so they're not in the way

I think it's a nice room and the curtains work well imo. If the pinball has to stay, could it be hidden with some form of decorative screen/room divider? It may even fit where the plant is (turned round :)). For the walls something like little Greene Portland stone dark (last pic) may work. The floor lamp is a bit too tall for the space and would swap that. The seating arrangement feels a bit squished, maybe pull the red sofa away from the wall a little or just pull the table out a bit (it may work swapping the tv and chair but depends on how many watch tv!). I'd swap the red vase and flowers for more greenery(ignore the grey vase, whatever I tried photoshopping in disappeared!). I would look at something like this for cushions, all bar the back left are Laura Ashley and can be found on eBay, etsy, amazon etc and work well with the curtains and break up the red? I think a round mirror would work better over the fire as there's quite a few lines on that wall. Maybe in future swap the tv cabinet for a larger one?
