The beading is face fixed onto MDF walls that we made for this exhibition.

KV, I really like how the chair looks with the creamy paint and pink velvet. in fact, I find myself visualizing your pieces at the oddest moments and thinking about how they should be trimmed out. I love the idea of the sequins, and they work around the seat back etc., but I don't like it on the chair arm. So I'm with dc.....is there a more slender sequin trim? And the idea alluded to by amy also has appeal....not sure if I'm imagining what she's suggesting. Here's my thought: use a multi-colored fabric that is turned into the typical cording. Something with cream background and make sure to have the pink in it. What are your thoughts?

Hello Lisamarie, Thank you very much! Well look at it like this, I offer up ideas I would do or consider but then you need to see what works for you and what you like, in my suggestions.. My advice is never impartial though as I am far too invested in what I do and love.. You do need to consider the furniture though but despite all these ideas your bright cushions will still add a really nice contrast.. What I was thinking, because I have this same experience... I painted the chimney breast only in grey.. I then painted the walls a cream colour, skirting in white. In your case it would be Wimborne for the walls and All White for the woodwork... ... I lived with it for a while but felt bored. It wasn't dramatic or characterful.. .. So I went on to paint the left wall where the window is and the opposite wall.. So 3 sides will now have dark grey 1 of the walls has an 8 ft by 6 ft mirror though the other is the chimney breast and the alcoves will be papered Oreste charcoal by Zoffany.. When I have got around to paying my pro-forma! ;) ..... (It's going to be a dark interior for the living room).. So I then painted all the window frames and windows black against the window panes and again a purple/grey colour I made for the frames, skirting, picture rail and architrave. It is coming along but not finished.. I have very little £ so I have to do things when I can.. Why not get some A4 paper and a few sample pots of nice chalky whites and creams, I do like pointing, also Shaded White and Clunch are really gr8 ... Stick some on the wall and some of the skirting colour on the skirting... You want to butt them up close together, so you can see them together... Look throughout the day at the changes. Duplicate the wall colours at eye level too.. so you can see at more height.. The room will look like a bad shave day! : ) ) Colours will change depending on the light.. choose a colour that is just a little creamier, so that if you want the woodwork white... you can still get a contrast.. Otherwise it will be white wall and woodwork and a downpipe chimney breast... So let's just say you went with some contrast... For Downpipe you could have Plummett or Manor house grey for the wood work... You could do the floor too.... Take these ideas and extend them to the other rooms... See what feels right.. Let me know what you think and if you get all that... and have more questions.. I just can't ever write a paragraph!! :))

Hi Miiliemae, You have some good foundation pieces to start which is good. I would avoid pink on the walls as it can be very cold in our climate and I don't think it works well with the gold in the wallpaper. Deep Pink in your accessories, including headboard, curtains, throws cushions is fine. I would keep the doors and architraves the colour they are and pain the walls in an olive green tone, for example Colortrend Cooks Garden. This shade will give richness back to the gold which the cream colour is robbing from it. It will also compliment your bedside lockers and your pink accessories. I would carry this colour into the en-suite as it will really make those tiles shine!! Good luck!

Hi, my wife used all of those colours last year to re-vamp our cottage lounge. She too loves Abraham Moon and had our curtains made out of the Pistachio wool. She also made all the cushion covers, and collected a load of samples including the 'spot' fabric, then sewed them all together to re-cover the foot stool. We love the colours that you have picked, as they're the same as ours.! One thing i've noticed is that in your lounge the focal point is the T.V. Being so large, and right next to the other focal point, which in my opinion should be the Fireplace, is that it dwarfs it. The fireplace is very large, and the fire is quite small. If you build up the fireplace from the bottom using the same brick and make the opening smaller, reduce the size of the pipe and move the fire up, it will help to balance the space. You could then paint behind the fire, colour matching one of your favourite Moon fabrics, ( i chose pistachio in the example ), This will then darken the background a little and make the fire stand out further. The other thing is that you have lots of different styles of furniture and different wood tones. Maybe darken the Mantel to match the T.V Unit, this will help things start to blend. You could also stain the coffee table to match. The sofa needs to get warmed up, so Tartain and Plaid Moon cushions, with a few plain Pistachio to match the Fireplace and Plain Pistachio Curtains. Take out all of the silver metal it makes the room colder. Add back in wooden photo frames, wooden lamp stands and warm lampshades to co-ordinate. Last but not least, break up the area with a nice plush rug! Sorry about my rubbish 'photo shopping', - Bottom pic, but hopefully you'll get the idea.
