Ideas for en suite/walk in wardrobe space in Bedroom
Comments (2)Hello Leesh, It sounds like you rather like the idea of an en-suite and so I would perhaps suggest you go with it, rather than do one thing and then re-do it later. You mention the house has one single loo.. So would this mean presumably that you would also then situate a loo downstairs? If so perhaps you might consider turning the loo into a small wet room style shower room.. A wall hung loo and small sink would give you enough room for a small shower room fully tanked of course as they are lovely. If there is a bathroom with bath for example elsewhere on the upper levels then it could be one way of dealing with this smaller space.. Alternatively you may prefer to have a walk in closet.. Mind you.. If the bedroom is large enough you may be able to incorporate a walk in closet in the room itself.. I'm elaborating on your initial dilemma, but it may help you to decide just what you need and where exactly.. : ))...See Morebig enough for walk in wardrobe?
Comments (26)Thanks for the mentions Jules Mc ! :-) Hi Debzip . If you have open walk in robes spaced at 550 open robe - 800walk space 550depth backing onto another 550 - 800 550 550 800 etc - so your robes go from to the length from eves to window - this could afford you a mix of single hanging and 3/4 hanging and possibly double hanging at highest height and shelves or drawers etc too . Finish each section with a std door to keep it tidy. Reduce the depth down nearer bedroom entrance and keep a dressing table area under the roof light ... that’s probably what I’d suggest . Although the previous suggestions are also fab ! Hope that helps a bit ! (Adding a rough sketch to clarify )....See MoreHelp with bedroom, walk in wardrobe and ensuite
Comments (16)Hi; without being rude I don’t think you have the space for both. Walk in wardrobes take up a lot more space than people realise. We have a similar layout & have 10m for it to work efficiently. I think it’s better to have a full wall of wardrobes & a luxurious bathroom. At the end to the day, a walk in only hangs your clothes! You only spend a minute in there. I wouldn’t put clothes in a bathroom - there’s steam & poop smells, and it just seems odd. You could even fit a bath in that en-suite for a hotel feel!...See MoreEn-suite - Walk in wardrobe design dilemma
Comments (10)Thanks so much for taking the time to respond Jonathan, I really appreciate the input. My husband is kind of set on a balcony as we can see the river and he wants to be able to sit there with a cup of tea 😜. I don’t mind either way really, I just didn’t want to have chairs in the bedroom as I thought that would look odd? Your ideas have brought up an issue in my mind though about the balcony/possible seating for this view and the fact that we will need to keep moving it around when we open and close the doors. With the side window, the house is under a national trust covenant and so the side window is really there to look a little more aesthetically pleasing and to match downstairs. I know it seems to waste that whole wall though....See MoreGerard Puxhe
