Hey, i like your use of the word 'struggle' i think it sums up how i've been finding this at the moment, odd since normally i just decide what i want and just happen upon the right stuff and it always works. I'm over thinking this living room way too much and need to not struggle so much, enjoy it and hopefully it'll just happen. I LOVE the womb chair (and the footstools that tend to accompany it), i think you might need to try your best to win that one :) I've made a few decisions this past weekend in thinking the way the room was headed was too formal and not at all me, i need to get a blast of modern in there, so first steps was to return the matchy matching lamps and have spent all weekend looking at TV units, i've looked at the whole of the internet and not seen one i like that;s less than £3000 anyway(gulp)! I like the layout of the room in that pic and the colours but it's possibly a tad too much Mid Century for my personal taste, but seriously envious of those windows and shutters and the high ceilings !

Hi Jackie, Might be a little late to help but how is it getting on? There's a couple of things that can be done to test and eliminate the problems. Firstly to eliminate that it's water staining you should get a hair dryer and place it onto the stains, if the marks disappear or get better but come back within a couple of days then it's water staining (stains come back as only the water close to the surface has been dried out). Now if the hair dryer doesn't work and the stains remain there could be 2 other issues: Soap stains - We've got a process that seems to work incredibly well but will require some explanation so try out the hair dryer first and let me know what happens. Silicon bleed - If the underside of the worktop hasn't been sealed properly then the silicon that the fitter used when fitting the sink basin will now be bleeding into the stone - unfortunately this is unfixable. By the way, if you've having trouble in having something done about this and we can get to the bottom of the staining of the stone we're happy to provide you with statements and verification if you wish to pursue the issue further. I opt for Brighton's generally on the grounds of tamper proof and strong. You don't need quite the same tolerance on the meeting rail height which can be handy at times (especially when some windows are hard to align) My supplier does a locking version which is popular now. The single catch (any catch) will be weak on its own so i'd suggest applying vent bolts also. These can be fitted on two stages (dead lock or vent) and basically give each sash three point locking in dead stage, and limit opening height at the vent stage. Hope this helps

No Problem :) One thing for both of you is that the brightness of LED bulbs is not really rated in Watts any more. Lamp brightness is measured in Lumens. When you're looking at the specification of an LED fitting, whether it is a dedicated LED lamp or a replacement for a standard bulb pay attention to the Lumens output. Better quality LEDs will generally have a higher Lumens output. Also check colour temperature measured in Kelvin (the lower the number the warmer the colour - 2700K is warm white and similar to halogen bulbs, 4000K is cooler and more suitable for security lighting). Also although not specifically relevant in this case, for interior fittings check the Colour Rendering Index. This dictates how well colours are shown by the light fitting. 100 is the same as daylight and most halogen lights measure around this figure. High quality LEDs are around 95 and lower quality start at 80. Finally, some LED replacement bulbs can be bigger than their incandescent equivalents so you will need to check how much space you have in the fitting to see if the LED will fit.
