Matt or gloss kitchen work surface
Comments (13)Hi Emma, We have installed the Cemento spa in several of our projects. Our clients like the suede as it does not need drying/buffing up once its been cleaned. My suggestion would be to borrow the small samples from your kitchen supplier (suede and polish) and use them as testers/coaster deliberate spillages etc - this will give you a better idea of usability and aid you in making the correct decision. Silestone care Take a look at the above link if you have not seen the care leaflet as yet. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on. John...See MoreInternal woodwork, stained MATT or GLOSS? Comments (11)I would paint too, doesn’t have to be white though, depends on the style of the rest of your home. And door doesn’t have to be same as rest of woodwork. I’ve painted my pine doors and woodwork dark in my current house and in my last house I painted all the doors off black but kept all the woodwork white since all the walls were white there....See MoreMatt vs Gloss Kitchen Units?
Comments (7)I have a super Matt dove grey handleless kitchen at my main home and a gloss white kitchen in my holiday home in Somerset. I can compare the two. It’s easy to clean the gloss doors. Either wipe with a damp cloth and buff up or use Vuplex. Job done. Granted they’re gloss so show the marks more easily. Super matt doors, now although they don’t necessarily show the marks, they are there and once the light shines in the right direction on them they look bad. Even if you look at them at a specific angle with the light on them you can see the marks. Nightmare. I’m speaking from experience here. How do you clean them? Well I use a magic eraser and sometimes it works well, other times not so well. Vuplex, mmmm, well I’m of the opinion that this product should be used on gloss only although that’s not what I’m told by my door manufacturer. So the other alternative is a soapy cloth, wrung out almost dry, wipe over and then buff up. Tried them all and no the heavy marks are still there .... and I’m not a mucky person. That’s just my experience and opinion. For looks I prefer the Matt as opposed to gloss but the cleaning of them is another matter .... unless anyone has any other ideas, and I’d gladly welcome them....See MoreGloss or matt kitchen cupboard doors
Comments (9)I have both in different homes (have posted this before, so the question has been asked previously). I have super matt in my main home. Dove grey colour. Handleless. Love them. They look great and stylish but when the light shines on them at a certain angle you can see any marks and they’re not as easy to clean off as in the case of gloss. As much as I try to never touch the door only the handleless strip I do forget. I don’t class them as easy to clean. In my holiday homes I have white gloss handleless. Easy to clean but you can also easily see the marks. It’s a 50/50 case I think. All down to personal preference....See MoreSheila's Florist Ltd
