Position of heated towel radiator

The ideal place for a heated towel radiator in our soon-to-be-revamped kitchen would be to place it on the end of the proposed island. That way all the kitchen linen would be handily placed between the food prep and washing up sinks. It could go on a wall but that's about 8/12 steps away and would be in the way of an opening cupboard door so our preference is for it to be fitted on it the end of the island.

Has anyone any advice about this please? We're thinking the "wall" couldn't be the carcase material and would have to be a continuation of the worktop (granite/silestone).

This sounds like a tricky little project.

If you haven't already, perhaps it may be worth considering an electric heated towel rail, that way you need not worry about pipework and plumbing.

As for the material to affix it to, that will of course depend upon the size of HTR you go for, but many HTRs are quite lightweight without compromising on build quality.

Depends on the room, some designs really suits towel bar, especially when the accessories are intrinsic to the design. Other times you just want to hide things on the back of a door, so both have their place.

Your best bet is to make sure you see whatever you are considering in the flesh and compare as you just can't tell on photographs. I would strongly advise a visit to a showroom. Where are you based? Our clients really like the Hudson Reed heated towel rail in chrome. It's our best seller, because of its practical ladder shape, but has a bit of a contemporary twist to it. Definitely not your average heated towel rail. Works well with contemporary or traditional bathrooms. Thanks all. It seems to be a fairly even split between 1 & 2 so definitely plumbed in and not electric. So it is probably going to come down to which plumbing circuit is easiest to reach when I come to fit it. I do like warm towels, even in the summer so option one if possible. Failing that we use the Honeywell Evohome system so it could be programmed to come on for a short period even if the rest of the heating is off.
