Hi Jennifer,

We are glad you like it!

This was a bespoke floor that was created from European Oak which was thermo treated, white washed and hand finished in our Cheshire workshop.

The citrus stripper is softer than the caustic strippers. However, the caustic strippers are easily available. You will need to do a small test area as the chemicals may react with oak to form dark patches. It may be worth having a word with the technical department at Liberon who do a range of strippers and waxes. I would ask them if they have a non slip wax as polished wax can be notoriously slippery when first applied. You will see I'm avoiding sanding because you will remove all the patina fibres from the surface, but if you must I can ask our flooring contractor the best way of preserving the restored look.

My sister is going to have rich wood effect porcelein tiles in her kitchen. One tile retailer let her take a whole pack home to lay on the floor to help with the decision and it helped to see how it would really look. The retailer was a family member, but who knows, maybe someone could do this for you?
