What wallpaper and paint would you use to decorate around this sofa ?

Hello Becky,

Consider something dramatic but perhaps dark. (Not seeing a pic of the room means I am suggesting without preference!) ... In this way the sofa compliments the room. With darker flooring too perhaps. It all depends on the size of the room and the light levels... With large dark furnishings that will focus the eye, it's important to integrate this well into the room... with balance.. So perhaps you have other large pieces which will then even the room spatially and on an aesthetic level.. Also consider layering with the blacks and purples.. keeping to versions of the colours you have chosen... Think too about rugs on a darker floor for a dramatic look that has elements of the chosen palette..

If you prefer a lighter theme then add something to compliment the larger pieces like the sofa as I suggested before but then work the scheme into lights.. Throws and layering in lighter shades will again bring the darker pieces into the scheme.. Succinctly it really boils down to what you might like.. Dark and moody or light and bright... : ))

If it is a small room you could use Farrow and Ball Wallpaper. Its beautiful and there is lots of choice. all the patterns are on the Farrow and Ball website.

You can get away with quite a lot in terms of colour selection and pattern, if you keep to the black sofas and white/glass high gloss look, you might be spoilt for choice. If your furnishings are in the beige/stone/brown scheme, it does narrow your colour choices somewhat. The main thing to ask though is what will your floor and skirting boards be like? That has a greater impact! Do you have an image you could attach of the kind of look you want the room to have?
