Small bathroom - modern tiles?
Comments (5)Hi, Rina, I'a big fan of very simple tiling -- in a small bathroom larger tiles can give a smoother look. 300 x 600 mm tiles work well, in a ever-so-slightly patterned neutral colour. These cover the space well, don't look too fussy, but because they aren't just a solid colour also add some interest. Also the larger tiles means less grout, and it's the grout that gets dirty in bathrooms.... Yes, I'd tile up the bath panel for a seamless look, and probably also fully up the walls, unless your ceilings are extremely high. Using the same tiles on the floor as the walls also helps give a unified, unfussy look, not to mention making it easier for the tiler. And I absolutely agree about the concealed cistern! And wall-hung WC and basin; anything that is off the floor adds to the sense of space, and is so much easier to keep clean!...See MoreUpdating a small, white-tiled bathroom and colour advice please.
Comments (15)Sanitary ware. I'm having a crisis of decision making. I bought a new sink and vanity from IKEA: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/washstands-taps/wash-stands/fullen-t%C3%A4lleviken-wash-basin-cabinet-white-spr-39891444/ However, it's occurred to me since that it'll take up too much of the room/floorspace, especially as the sink faces you as you walk in. I've been looking at other designs, and the wall-hung sink with a nicer-looking chrome waste could be a much better option. Added to this, if I'm tiling the floor, I'll probably need to buy a new loo, and IKEA doesn't do matching loos. Therefore...where can I buy a basic loo/basin package? What's the difference between a 'toilet and basin' and a 'cloakroom suite'? Should I go for one or two tap holes? Am I wasting my money? Should I just update the taps on the existing sink and tile-box in the waste?...See MoreDark Grey tiles in small bathroom
Comments (14)Your new bathroom is going to look great! We love your tile selection. If you are going to tile the wall in the darker tile, then we suggest to tile the floor in the lighter grey-but same tile style. Just to give it some contrast. And since we have noticed you have blonde hair, lighter colour on the floor will be much more grateful, otherwise, every single hair will show ;) And also, have you considered half way wall tiling and then paint in a cream colour? That would look very elegant and would feel a bit more cosy, instead of going all grey. Good luck!...See MoreBathroom Ideas for Small Bathroom
Comments (3)If you shop for a space saving toilet there should be plenty of room for a full sized basin on the same wall. A p shaped bath would also give you a little more room at the shower end....See MoreStudio 27 Architects
