Comments (5)Hello Ca Vow, Yes the Velux window is nice, lots of lovely light! Pics need a more panoramic view to see really.. You could add a pantry as per Karen's plan. I'd still take away the remaining living room wall so it's entirely open into the space and possibly stick to low level cupboards for food storage. Keeping the kitchen roughly where it is situated, means that tv and sitting would be at the other end of the living room. So you keep cooking and dining together so to speak. Another idea might be to have two galley style opposite rather than a U shape configuration. Moving sink round to wall other side of bathroom so plumbing together. With oven opposite it. Thus you could have a wall to ceiling pantry cupboard or double height fridge enclosed as a cupboard style on that wall where currently the sink is situated. Then if you open the entire wall to living room, you could extend the galley worktop (new sink side) and even extend that to accommodate an eating area that folds away when you don't want it... : )) Roughly speaking.. View if you were standing with your back to your fridge/pantry : )) You could house the fridge in a pantry style cupboard.... Think deVOL or Plain English... Have beautiful free standing appliances... Ideas..... Smeg Range dual fuel 60 or 90. Smeg streamline dishwasher, Dualit toaster and architect kettle.. Buy cheaper cabinet shells... and put lovely doors! Handless.. or cup handles.. Paint matt colour or lovely wooden doors like Bert and May Kitchens... Choose lovely taps... Have a lovely worktop... The watermark collection Zen, London or Elan Vital, Kohler articulated tap in Nickel or brass... Have a pot filler... Make the kitchen beautiful with these shiny things.... Wish you lots of luck, there is nothing much wrong with the kitchen as it is, so I would try living in the space for a while before taking the sledgehammer to anything. It doesn't look as though the light is being blocked by the high kitchen units so maybe they could stay and have a wider surface fitted so that you could have a breakfast bar on the other side and do away with the dining table area. You could use the tall wall cupboard system that Ikea do to combine extraction and storage above the cooker. If you like wood, take a look on ebay for iroko worktops they are really lovely and chunky and look better as they age. The doors you can change easily for something funkier try kitchenwarehouse uk online for a great range of replacement doors. If you want something boho they do a range of glossy doors in contemporary colours. You could have a boho look just by putting some colourful glasses in the see-through cupboard and lighting it. Comments (0)Hi everyone, I am thinking about arranging the lights in the apartment. Below is the arrangement of the rooms and the probable arrangement of the furniture. (btw. The color of the furniture is pretty random. The walls will probably be light olive or light beige.) The living room + workplace: Apart from office lamps, I think about LEDs attached to desks or to the ceiling. It would give a nice ambient light while working or watching movies on a projector. Please, advise. I am also thinking of giving some LEDs behind the sideboard to attract attention (sideboard will be white or wooden) and track lighting (with Hue Philips or sth) above a sofa to read a book and to have light for the coffee table (forgot to add the model). Will I need some main light source when there are so many LEDs and these 3 bulbs above the sofa? Any other ideas? Please, advise. (BTW. windows face south). The hall: I think 3 ceiling tube lights would be enough. It should be able to illuminate the hall and the wardrobe inside. Should they be further away from the closet? Too close to the closet can look odd. The light switches for the hall and living room will be mounted on that wall. Bedroom annex: Same as in the hall + above the bed headboard maybe 2 sconce (some concrete examples would be nice) or some LED stick wall lamp (though it will be hard to read a book in bed): BUT I think the best and the most expensive option would be false ceiling with RGB LED strip (to create a mood :D) and 3 spot lights above headboard and 3 near the closet. Theoretically, a book shelves separating the "bedroom" and the living room would cover this jump caused by the false ceiling. But in practice it may look bad. Can be a bit overwhelming / claustrophobic. Although the LEDs will add quite a lot of depth. hmmm Have you ever met with something like this? The kitchen: LEDs under the cabinets and 3 track lighting (or 3 ceiling tube lights) above working countertop. Will I also need a main light source? Should i add the track lightning above the window too (blue line)? Kitchen is not that small but tricky because of the huge window. The kitchen will have such fronts and a countertop (probably). And i think that is it. I appreciate for any answers and ideas. I would love to hear other suggestions for example for arranging furniture and plants (maybe instead of this large plant in the living room I will give a hanging pot and put an air purifier on the floor?
