what blinds for kitchen?
Comments (4)What a fab window. And since it looks like the room also functions as a dining/sitting room, I'd definitely go for a fabric roman blind - perhaps even interlined to absorb some of the echo. Fit the blind outside the recess, maybe a few inches wider on either side, so that it allows maximum light when up, and looks like a pelmet. The only real decision you have to make now is 'what fabric?'....See Morewhat is your best timeless colour for kitchen cabinets
Comments (26)Pumice and Duck Egg Blues are timeless. Personally I love some of the darker grey-blue tones which are so popular at the moment and, I'm sure, will stand the test of time. Remember colour is a curious and complex thing. A swatch will never really do it justice, and one colour will look very different depending on how matte/glossy it is. The same paint will also look very different depending on the surface it is painted on! And the choice of colours/textures used in worktops and accessories can also change the whole feel of a colour scheme without changing unit colours. Comments (1)Hi Ahoula, That's a lovely kitchen, and with such a neutral basis, you can afford to go for pretty much anything you please. I see you've got a few orange accents already - which looks fabulous with the grey - so why not go for that? Alternatively, bright shades like yellow and red will pack a punch. If you're feeling like you'd rather go with a neutral shade, choose something with added pattern or texture to stop it blending into the background. Good luck, Zoe...See MoreBlinds and Wall Colour for my kitchen ?
Comments (2)How about painting your kitchen duck egg blue, it contrasts well with cream and is not too warm for the heat of a kitchen. It can be used with a variety of different styles/types of accessories and soft furnishings, including ditsy prints, ice cream colours and geometrics. Ideally i would advise buying a blind you love ( a design rather than plain or textured) and using one of the colours in the blind to paint the walls with. If the room is small ensure the pattern in the blind as also small. A large an/or bold pattern will overwhelm the room. The blind needs to be a kitchen blind that resists moisture and grease or it will grow black mould. Also remember to use paint designed for kitchens as it resists grease and steam....See MoreElena Romanova Interiors
