In need of honest advice
Comments (95)OK all, I have a website!! http://www.lucianastatues.com/ It's almost finished, I haven't started on the blog or added an 'About' page, as I'm not sure what to write yet. It went live a couple of days ago but then had some glitches, and the absent-minded geek (I have his approval to call him that) who made the site told me not to advertise it until he takes care of them. Everything is working now; I could say I have 2 websites, as he built another one for me initially that I didn't like that much. It was probably the wet dream of a webdesigner, with lots of features and pop-ups and hexagonal inserts (don't ask...!) but just too fancy for my needs. So I told him to keep it simple, sat down with him for a few hours and hurray!! - I think he's done a great job. This site is just straightforward and easy in my opinion, simple to use and with large photos that help with seeing the details. I would appreciate some feedback though, so please let me know what you think. I'm still not sure about prices, I mostly charge by how tall the figure is and how much I like it:)). Next week is gallery touring, I'm going to Birmingham tomorrow to a craft fair, but mostly to look and maybe buy supplies, not to sell http://www.thenec.co.uk/whatson/hobbycrafts# My main problem at the moment is that I ran out of stock! :)) I sold a few more things, but they were commissioned, so they don't appear on the site. Didn't have time to make a lot of new pieces, so some of the stuff that's there is mostly things I would've liked to keep or had on reserve, but now decided to sell them. I knew starting all this will leave me less time to play...... Plus my geek gave me a task list with stuff to do to promote the website, and I'm supposed to write that blog every couple of days..... Anyway, my gratitude again for your help and support. As I said, I'd appreciate some feedback on the site. I was thinking Houzz users should get discounts... again, please use prolux@gmail.com or the form on the site to get in touch with me. Thank you!!...See MoreArtwork/prints for bare walls
Comments (23)You have a lovely and tasteful space! I do agree with Camilla that large bold painting would look great as well as add a contemporary touch. For example something like this (with frame matching the table or the chairs and a satin gloss finish of the painting): Get in touch If you would like me to send any suggestions!...See MoreEmpty wall in living room. How to decorate it?
Comments (16)Thank you all for your replies. Sorry I didn't take the time to answer earlier. I get what you meant by the overpowering wall unit but unfortunately we can't move it. There's a hole in the wall behind the top part of it for all the wires connecting the different media boxes to the TV. And we had younger children at that time so we didn't want them to access it. Sometimes we had to make choices between aesthetic and functionality/childproof within our family's requirements. I know professionals would have been able to find a better compromise but at that time, we tried to do everything ourselves Your comments definitely opened our eyes, and I like the different options proposed. I like the ideas of multiples paintings/ frames, that respect the tones of cushions/sofa rather than one massive piece of art. It's really hard to visualise beforehand. Which application do you use to add virtual decoration/painting on a existing pictures please ? It really helps! I've attached a picture of my living room at a different angle (from entrance), you can see there's still lots to do to make it an harmonious! But in our crazy daily life, I'm fine with it for now, as we appreciate to have cosy family time there and quality time doesn't need hight standard finish. Meanwhile I can't stand the look of the AC unit above the window (it was there when we bought the house). But between us, I was glad when we had the hot weather last week. The living room was the only fresh room in the house and my children ended up camping in it to have a nice good night sleep Best regards to all...See MoreNeed help choosing new wall colour for sitting room.
Comments (53)Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. E D - the sofas are now away from the walls and the castors are sitting on brass cups (the plastic ones shattered) and it has worked, they don’t move!...See MoreRuta Lauzikaite
