Our new kitchen
Comments (22)I think that is a lot better. YAY! You'll get good flow from the utility straight into the kitchen with your shopping bags, coats, etc. and it looks like there'll be enough space in the "extended hall" to use it constructively. I do have a couple more questions/suggestions: - The doorway from the utility with the fridge next to it - if the fridge door is open, you won't be able to get through. Also, because the area next to the fridge is all wall cabinets, you might have the "where do I dump things?" issue. I would put another counter on the left wall between the two banks of cupboards. It'll probably only be two or three cabinets and counter, but I think it'll be handy. OR you could put the FF there. - I'd centre the hob on the island, but I think that is a good spot for it. - The other thing is something One Plan raised - walk in pantry? You could have part of the utility dedicated to this, or do you think you'll have enough food storage with the wall cupboard near the ovens (I assume this will be a pull out number as these are really handy to be able to see everything....See MoreOur new kitchen before & after
Comments (32)In an earlier post you said you were having a sofa and TV in the room too. I'm having an extension built and my kitchen will be a similar size to yours. I'm hoping to fit a dining table and sofa in the room, however I can't picture the space at the moment. I'd love to see a photo of your kitchen with the sofa and tv in it as it would help me with my layout....See MoreAdvice on on a kitchen extension for our new home
Comments (2)Hi Andrea, How exciting, congratulations. A couple of comments I would make. There is a lot of seating/eating in the kitchen! Do you really need a bistro table, dining table and island? I think the dining table is a must but the snacky casual seating I think either/or! Also as a guest, I hate toilets with two doors! I always think I'm going to forget to lock or unlock them both! I like the concept of the large utility room and I can't quite read all the words on there but can the toilet perhaps stay in its current location (saving ££) and make the kitchen and utility room one space with a new backdoor elsewhere or by shortening the existing toilet wall? If you want any help drawing up 3D visualisations, give me a shout! https://www.coveykitchens.co.uk/design-services/Space-Planning Good Luck Emily x...See MoreAdvice on colour schemes for our new kitchen please
Comments (8)I have dove grey handleless doors in my kitchen but have the same colour all round and on the island too. I painted the walls in Wevet which is almost a white but with a mere hint of grey. You can only really tell the grey tone when it’s against the white ceiling join. On the wall at the far end where the dining table is I have wallpaper to add a bit of interest. Perhaps these are options for you?...See MoreWiltshire Garden & Interior Design
