need help decorating my bedroom, im 17 years old and have an interest in running/city life, i like sleek and modern designs, i would love to encorporate some grey/black and white within it, any ideas which i could add too it to give it more of a running related feel

I like the black and white theme however you need to be sure to get loads of textures involved so its not to clinical and cold looking, for example a black furry thro at the bottom of your bed and some different textured cushions. You could maybe have a big canvas of a blurry running image and maybe use laces to make something in the room such as handles for something or some funky light shade?!

If you want a theme e.g. running in your bedroom I would suggest having a display of trainers in some artistic layout on a wall, shelf etc. Or what about getting a trainer shaped beanbag for something to sit on! For the furniture, you could get large gloss slider wardrobes which would add to the modern feel of your new bedroom.

That sounds lovely. Maybe change the chair to a "dressing table" style chair with duck egg upholstery? And a few throws and cushions in different textures and colours (duck egg and cream?) And fluffy sheepskin rugs to soften everything? I'd trawl eBay where I pick up loads of second hand goodies for a quick bedroom make over. For a treat how about a duck egg ceiling lamp from Lush Designs? I got one for my spare room-a duck egg bird design which is lovely. And finally all young girls love the idea of a four poster or variant on the same. Maybe a ceiling mounted voile thing for a budget option? love all your ideas my teenage son wants red rather than orange as his brothers room is orange and grey I prefer orange aswell. he has white malm furniture for now the room is rectangle and he will be sharing with his younger brother I'm thinking decorate first and then maybe look at furniture again his new bed is going to be black with the ottoman type storage and led lights

@Rozanne K, it's great your son doesn't bother, he trusts you. But ask him for the final word anyway. Colours influence our moods and feelings, it's a good read. For a 13, if you really love and want dark colour for his bedroom then we would recommend using the bold on/as a feature wall. Use a colour to influence his mood. Pick up the right wall though, so he sees the colour and that it has some light in. Paint other walls and ceiling in another complimentary colour, brighter than darker. loving the ideas guys, as for the shoes display good idea, i have an odd space behind my desk, theres like a drop in the wall, maybe i could build some slanted shelfs with a plate on the front to store my shoes, got 9 pairs now and the gaps maybe big enough for 3 pairs so 3 shelfs of that! And as for the running picture i was going to do that, ive found a good pic of the front runners in the nyc half so could print that in a2 and frame it.
