It is a Brown/Black frost resistant brick called Anthracite 624 available from Butterfields brick library in Luton.

Hello Rosie, I like the sound of the stag/deer wallpaper and you can re-design with that theme in mind! .. You could have bedroom lighting above the bed or bedside tables.. that has a bit of stag theme... see the images. Also if you wanted you could carry it on a bit more and have a head in cardboard.. On the opposite wall... For the bed... Why not have a nice throw and pillows in a brown/beige tartan... You can have some lovely large pillows for the bed and a nice blanket or throw folded over the bottom... This ties in the whole stag paper theme. The colours for the cushions and throw/blankets really depend on the paper! .. So you want to pick out the colours from that! Move the nice arm chair to a position in front of the wooden cupboards. The chair and cupboards lend themselves to the theme very well so make something of what you have...You could add another tartan throw or cushion onto the chair..... and then move that unit away if you can and all the things on top.. Why not try to hang the pictures rather than place them on the window... This will leave the window nice and open... : ))

Was also going to say that is an impressive list. Much more than I can get hold of 🙂 and I agree that it depends on how much sun or shade the border gets. Which direction does the back of the house face? Had a good look through the list and a lot are seasonal bedding plants such as the lobelia, petunia, marigolds and so on which can still be useful to fill areas whilst the perennials settle in. I’ve compiled a shortlist of what I think could work well assuming it gets a fair amount of sun but even then in my experience choosing plants can be hit and miss. Some may take well while others may not. Primula and polyanthus might prefer a shadier position but it’s my experience that they’ll grow anywhere. Osteopermum, nice plant but better if you’re down south, mine died off in a sharp frost. Peony (slow growing). Risky but a nice plant if it takes well. Platycodon (Bellflowers or campanula), some can grow very tall but some are alpine variety so choose wisely. Lithodora, Cistus (silver pink), Aubretia, Lewisia, Saxifraga, Armeria Thrift, Arenaria, Arabis, Senetti are all rock/alpine plants I think and should do well in that border and won’t grow to high. They‘re quite often used in basket and container arrangements. The Cistus (or rock rose) is one of my favourite plants. Two others that struck my interest are Deutzia Rosea which looks like it stays compact and Andromeda. I’m assuming it’s Andromeda polifolia ‘compacta’ (bog rosemary). Looks lovely and one for my own list. 😊 If you want some taller shrubs/ plants do a little more research as there some good options there. Hope this helps. x

Thank you! Imagine if there was solid oak under this tatty laminate! Somehow it seems unlikely, with it having been public housing. The story goes that they were running out of money to finish this estate which is why a lot of the attics were not divided up, ie, no party walls between them. There are a couple of airbricks in the front wall at what would be below floor level so that's exciting. I've no idea what to do next! Thanks again.

This space used to be a home gym, so the colours in here were a bit too bold and in your face for the serene and sophisticated home office that they were going for. Its Red wood cedar - these panels were made to fit on site. You can buy ready made ones from a company called Silva timber using the same material. - Hope that helps.
