Anyone have advice on integrated window blinds?

Hi, I have my heart set on integrated window blinds for bi fold doors being installed in my kitchen, but I have been told they are not reliable & the builder said he has known a lot of people that have had problems with them. Does anyone have them or have experience with them? Thankyou

Hi there,

We have installed many integral blinds units and have never known of any
complaints in relation to these despite how frequently they have been used.

Love them! Have had them in my kitchen bifolds for 5 years so far with no problems.

I have a south facing kitchen with high gloss cream units and a black worktop. The only thing I would say is when the sun hits the room you see every spec of dust or finger mark on the cabinets...not great with my dog and 2 year old! But I'm having cream gloss blinds fitted this week which hopefully will keep the dust down. I also think the cabinets somehow 'attract' dust...must be a static thing maybe?

Hi Perrin out of interest is it a detachable cord that you attach by magnet to the top of each bifold door to operate the blinds & then detach & store in a cupboard? We saw these at the Ideal Home Show last year & ordered them when we purchased our bifold doors/windows. However, unfortunately when we returned home on installation day the wrong blinds had been fitted & we didn’t like the white strip down each pane. I’ve just paid the deposit to get the blinds changed to anthracite (to blend in better!) but am wondering if yours are what we had initially seen but could never source?!

I've not come across them before, so I googled 'blackout shutters'. There are several companies offering them, which are essentially a blind behind the shutters.

Hi bebelou. Have you purchased the bifold doors already? Centor Integrated Doors have the shades (blinds) built into the door frame rather then the panel. They retract completely out of sight when not in use, giving you clear views out to your garden.
