Kitchen diner blinds/curtains

Hi! We had building work done a year ago and still haven't got round to putting any blinds or curtains up! Now it's getting sunnier and it's East facing we are finding the sun is getting in our eyes at breakfast. It would feel cosier in the winter too with some curtains of blinds. What should we put up? I was wondering about a black pole to match the kitchen unit handles? Maybe a roller or Roman blind in the kitchen area? I'm rubbish and knowing what looks good and my husband want curtain tracks which I don't think will look good! Thanks in advance x

Comments (5)Hello, think I would go with the plain neutral colour curtains or a blind. Has the same problem with colour of sofa, it looked mid brown in shop, but when it turned up looked really dark. Also have a beige carpet. At first had beige walls but now are painted white, looks better, with one wall brown and beige patterned wallpaper from Osbourne and little (its beautiful but too grand for our semi). Have got one old red leather Ikea chair, which I quite like with the brownsofa so have 2 faded red cushions on sofa to tie in scheme. Medium grey rug suprisingly goes with everything! Comments (9)Hi Hilary, Why not consider motorised blinds? They are not as expensive as they used to be and now you even get wireless battery operated ones and even solar powered ones which have a 5 year battery life. I considered them for my parents house a while back and the only reason I didn't go ahead was because of other renovation work which is still due. Some come with dawn to dusk timers and can be controlled via your phone even while your away....See More

7 years agoHi Tanya, have you considered sunscreen roller blinds. They block the glare and reduce heat gain but still allow you to see out. We have installed lots of these to similar windows to yours.
