For three sides of the walls, I have customized a color based on Sherwin Williams color SW6416, with hints of SW-7747. Most paint stores can work with you on that. Please keep in mind that color is very reactive to other colors used in a room. Here, the color tones are balanced with the light gray color of the concrete, the tile and natural white pebble stone on the floor, the cool natural light coming from the direction of the windows, and the type of lighting used in the room. Additionally, the soft wheat gold glass wall panels used in the shower casts a warm sun-like glow on all colors (see my website www.mitradesigns.com for the full portfolio of this project). I always study my color schemes at different times of the day, before I finalize the color choices. Color selection really is an art! Please note that the photo viewed on the screen makes the green appear much darker than the actual wall paint. I suggest you first study the color by obtaining a larger sample of all your paint colors and test it in the room. Use of green color particularly requires a careful study in the actual room, so I suggest that you obtain a quart of the paint and do a few test patches on different wall surfaces before you paint the whole room. If you want to update on a budget, then I think painting the walls will help. I think a darker shade would look good, say a coffee or taupe colour maybe? I would paint the shelf the same colour as the walls and then add a plant or two, one hanging down and one spreading up and out. The tiling limits the colour palate, are they pinkish with brown and beige mosaic border? If taupe is not for you, then white walls, wooden shelving and plants would look good. Here’s some ideas

I think the white walls are fine in your bathroom, in fact the walls look more taupe than white on my iPad. It just needs accessorising. I would remove the red accessories which are a little dated, and add some warm metals instead. I don’t mean remove all the chrome, but add, say, a brass soap dispenser, a faux plant in a brass pot, some art on the wall with a brass/gold or black frames. Replace the loo roll holder with a brass one. It’s a nice bathroom which just needs accessorising. Pictures always look good in a bathroom so a picture above the loo and on the adjacent wall will improve things. Some ideas:

Is the tile on the right a deep green? I would look at something taupe (which means it has a red/violet bias) along the Iines of Skimming Stone or Elephants Breath (Farrow and Ball). These colours seem to complement deep greens whereas anything with a yellow tinge could look a bit sickly. Also worth looking at Little Greene Slate which comes in oil based paint. Or, do you want to actually match a colour to the tile?

Well the room is east facing so is not the brightest apart from from early morning, but too be honest, I don't mind if it's a bit dark as we will have decent lighting in there. I'm not really drawn towards the green tbh, although I can see that it could work well. One of the problems I'm having is that I chose the Purple Brown for the vanity unit when I thought we would keep the walls China Clay Deep, and had also planned to paint the built in cupboard in the same shade, but now that everything is in, I really want to go darker on the walls but don't know how to work that in around the unit without it clashing or getting "lost". I'm considering LG Rolling Fog (Dark maybe) or maybe Roman Plaster. Of course, it doesn't have to be Little Greene paint, I'm just trying not to give myself too much choice or I'll never make a decision!
