Hi Greg!

The border is measured first to fit the parameter of the island, and then it's actually laid before the rest of the flooring. If you're interested to find our more about our borders, it might be worth speaking to one of our retailers?

Hi there, a lovely climber that needs little or no attention is an evergreen honeysuckle called 'Fire cracker' which grows in sun or shade. One tip for more flowers is train the plants horizontally not vertically. White jasmine is another evergreen climber that smells wonderful and again needs only to be tied to the wall. It has white flowers that give off a heady scent at night from June to September and in winter the leaves turn a glorious red colour. Cotoneaster is also a great evergreen shrub that looks great all year round and the bees love it. Mine is now climbing a wall but started off as a standard shrub. White flowers in the summer and red berries in autumn. Good luck xx

I hate islands. Why have a big kitchen and turn it into a little one? I reckon they'll soon be getting ripped out all over the UK like hatches were. Remember when they were cool? The secret of good hosting is to prep and cook as much in advance as you can, then sit and drink wine (or tea, vimto, absinthe etc if you must) with your guests. I'm a bit of a design snob, I admit, but these things have the stench of 'nouveau ' all over them. Don't do it people.

Hi Ellie, looking at your plan, don't see any particular restrictions, so long as you avoid fouling on the door - beyond that, it is really down to personal preference. As a rough rule of thumb, we like to ensure there is minimally 90-100cm width of "walkway" anywhere in a kitchen, so would position your units and island to comfortably achieve at least that. As to further suggestions - why not consider either and angled or curved unit at the end of the run? It will make entering/exiting feel much roomier without giving up much storage space (if any). As a minimum, I'd look to round off the corner of the worktop to avoid creating a sharp corner that you would catch on when entering/exiting through the angled door. Hope that helps!
