Toddler's playroom
Comments (1)Hi there Storage is imports in in any play room. So think of shelving and tables which are at toddler height with no sharp corners. Make sure the furniture is secure as toddlers do tend to climb! Neutral colours think of colour quirky combinations greens & turquoise yellows & grey blue & orange Pastels look good combined with a primary too. You could paint one wall in a feature colour, say lime green or you colour but decals for the walls and make these a feature. Funky roller blinds (with safety catches!) Add a bright rug too Bean bags for sitting on. Look at Nubie Aspace The great little trading company...See MorePlay Room - Colour Choice for North East Facing Room
Comments (9)Hi Debbie. I hope it's all going well so far for you! You have some great ideas. When north light is involved I would stay clear of whites with green or blue undertones or infant, those colours. You want to enhance the warm. Try a white with a red or yellow undertone. This will easily pair with yellow so great on the rug. I would choose this white first and then when a test patch is up (or you have one on paper) I would look at a suitable green to work with it. For adding fun and to break up the block colour I would add a mural/sticker to the wall (someone like ink vinyl) they are reasonable priced and very easy not only to put on, but more importantly, to remove in a few years without leaving a mark as tastes change! :) You have a great start to the space and I look forward to seeing your ideas come together. Well done...See MoreHelp needed to decorate my small playroom/spare room (pretty please)
Comments (16)yes I like the jungle idea possibly, though not sure if should keep with ivy as it matches whats currently there.. , not sure about the shelves or seating by the TV though. In the room next door there is an an 8 seater table, and a kitchen island, so its not as though this is the only place to have seating I guess. I like the ideas of natural look, almost Japanese, bamboo, bringing the garden in, just having difficulty with which wall colours, what to do with the post? keep white or make a colourful feature of it, and also what colour sofa bed, rug, paint on the walls to make everything blend in. It's so difficult, can't go for a lightish sofa, as it would just get too dirty, but I'm open to all ideas and very very much appreciate both yours and Rukmini's I have no idea how to put a room pic together like that so it helps massively. They have a lot of friends round, so a comfy rug /beanbags are also great, as long as we can also put them somewhere away too, so they're not in the way...See MoreLiving room decorating help - 1930s fireplace and pelmet!
Comments (10)Thanks everyone! So helpful. Colourhappy and ED I hadn’t thought about painting the room white first but I think that’s a great idea, as it’s difficult to visualise what the room could look like while the current decor is here (esp the red ceiling)! I forgot to say that we are doing all the work ourselves (and are not DIY pros) to keep costs down, so unfortunately I think we’ll have to work around the fireplace. They are a bit marmite, aren’t they - I probably wouldn’t like it if it was dark brown. I also don’t like the pelmet CD, and if it’s not original I’m not interested in keeping it. Just need to figure out how to get it out without causing too much damage! Lovely colour scheme suggestions along the lines of what I was thinking. Thank you all again....See MoreThe Bulb Co
