Bedroom layout dilemma
Comments (19)We had a differing layout to you, but a similar dilemma. We put in a new doorway and a folding door between the master and adjoining bedroom (now used a huge dressing room) but retained the existing doors into each room. This means we could still sell as a 4 bed later if we wanted, but at the moment live as a 3. So we currently have master, through to dressing room, through to en-suite. (A happy outcome is that now that we don't sleep next to the ensuite, so we don't hear each other 'pee') ;). Another plus is one of us can get up, and go into the dressing room / ensuite to get showered and dressed, closing the folding door over. The other is left happily sleeping......See MoreDesign Dilemma - bedrooms in our bedroom
Comments (3)Good morning, It may be worth measuring the room and uploading a plan, so that Houzz designers can properly assess the room and provide an accurate layout for you. Get some measurements of walls, windows and doors, as well as the ceiling height....See Morelayout dilemma - open plan ground floor, master bedroom layout
Comments (3)You need to consider lots of things when designing overall floor layouts - walkway space, where the sun comes in from, how many inhabitants live here and how many likely guests etc - your kitchen dining for example doesn’t look to have enough walkway space around it and looks too small for six as you’d be overlapping plate space etc etc For projects like this, if you plan to live here some time, it’s worth booking a pro ( like a concept planner ) to either check things through with you, ie working with you to get things right - taking on board all of the info available and coming up with a viable safe design. If you click on my name or icon, you can have a look at the sort of design I’m talking about - as we have some past projects on our pro page. Nb. If this is just a house flip then what ever you do will probably be redone by new owners anyway, so not so important !...See MoreBedroom/bedroom layout
Comments (10)Don’t have dimensions but the en suite looks larger than it needs to be. I would move the wall between bedroom and en suite back a few feet then you could have wardrobe storage space along the bedroom side of the new stud wall. As building a new stud wall you could have a pocket door and I would put the bed and bedside tables as in the diagram above facing the window. In the ensuite I would make the shower as wide as possible stretching between the new stud wall and the exterior window wall and put the toilet and basin side-by-side along the window wall...See MoreOnePlan
