What brand is the lime plaster and how did you prepare the space?

Is this applied to ordinary drywall or cement backer board or something else? Is the floor just ordinary subfloor or is there a membrane of some sort? I would love to do EXACTLY what you did, but am terrified of leaking. Please tell me how you did this. Thank you!

Hi! This was on the experimental side so no guarantees. We used cement backer board floor and walls. The lime companies will not back this substrate but it has worked for us.

Using lime plaster might be unusual in a wet room as the water does goes into the lime but the lime does breath so it evaporates shortly after. We used ready made lime plaster:

We did not use a membrane but I would recommend one on floors on walls - this was an old out building at ground level. The installation has been up about 8 years and worked well. Cleaning is with stiff horse hair brush on the lime plaster.

We used a beautiful bronze corner drain made from Wade International and sloped the floor to the wall. Also shower is from Screwfix and taps are from Coxs Architectural salvage.

I want to plaster a bathroom, including the shower, and the wall material is autoclaved aerated concrete block construction. I plan on tiling the floor. Can this really be done?? Is there a sealer that can be applied to the finished walls? I have read in some cases that plaster walls can be waxed, like with carnauba wax...

wow stellahome, what a grand house and entrance! I'm intrigued! Do you have many original features left in the house? servant bells maybe? :) Post some pictures for us! I am very familiar with lassco, in fact I currently live 5 mins away from there, and pop in often, they have many wonderful items which really enhance an old house. Took a couple of more pictures today of the dresser, as even though it looks very worn, look at the dovetail joint details! They certainly don't make them like this anymore (unless you pay a hefty price for it!)

I think the option of having the tv under the stairs.. Is the best idea.. Maybe have a tv, media unit made to measure if possible .. Draws or cupboards underneath for storage. Small shelves at the sides for little ink-naks. If needed.. A smaller maybe glass oblong table in front of the window. The table will still allow light through.. Making sure passable through to the stairs.. And the sofa on the back wall.. Lovely rug in the centre with coffee table or chest for extra storage if needed... Maybe some open floating shelves off set above the sofa. Use an accent colour with accessories.. From the rug or cushions.. Don't go overboard with large piece of furniture... Simple statements....

Loft is from a similar spot to All White and is likely to read quite similar. Shirting is just a tiny touch darker. Slaked Lime is darker again and looks very pretty in abundant lighting but sometimes it may feel a little greyed in a more dimly lit space. Stock is too dark and too colourful to be classed as a white or off-white. In may appear a warm near neutral in some settings and you may see a degree of greenness in others. Julie’s Dream is from the Yellow-Red Hue Family. ItIt’s both too dark and colourful to be considered a white or off-white. You are likely to read it with a peachy pinkness in relatively balanced lighting.

Hi Hu, I think the biggest thing to consider when getting a new kitchen is getting the layout right. A lot of the large retail companies/smaller franchises work on selling and operating at certain margins.
