Lots of space - how to use it?
Comments (8)Yes I do, they are a bit stiff when opening and closing but that's beside the point... I actually took them up myself so it's funny you think they are too short! I like the coral colour I have already on the walls but do want to add another colour. I'm not sure whick colour I'd go for from the curtains...I'm trying to move away from anything too beige!...See MoreTop tips for getting rid of moths
Comments (12)This is, unfortunately, perfect timing as I became aware of a serious moth issue in my bedroom. Have bought all the sprays, stickers, cedar balls, clothes hanger repellents etc but it doesn't alter the fact that hundreds of £££'s worth of my cashmere and wool clothes are gone! A dear friend has been helping with the washing and freezing of my 'stuff' but we still have a way to go. She took one cashmere dress out and pointed to 2 larvae having a stroll along the shoulder seam, so I quickly despatched them to moth heaven!!! About to tackle the bed and underneath it etc. I, too, am now paranoid about the little snickers, and know that only repeated spraying and time will tell if I've beaten them. It's not nice!!! Comments (26)Is this your only Reception space Rose? Have you got 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, this room and a small hallway? I love all the suggestions above and I'm also wondering how soon you are thinking of putting the property on the market? It might help with some of your decisions. This living space is trying to do an awful lot of things so you might want to consider if there's room in your bedroom for a home office. But if you're not putting your home on the market for 12 months say, you have to consider where the best place is to work in the meantime. If this was possible though, the TV could then go in the the right hand alcove and perhaps free up some space for a small (extending?) dining table by the patio doors like your neighbours have. It doesn't really matter how you live (we all live for comfort and our own convenience) but when it comes to photographing your property and showing it, that when the homestaging needs to start. Then I'd be looking to put as many of the baby stuff in the nursery (even the pram if no room in the hallway) except the high chair which could go in the kitchen, if room, or around a small dining table if you think that's an option. I've got friends who have put a pram and baby walker in their neighbours house and stuffed the car boot with stuff to give the impression of more space when having viewers. 😂...See MoreHow to get rid of asbestos during refurbishment
Comments (3)You might have some asbestos in the artex- you can get a testing kit online or hire a professional. If you do have some in the artex the normal course of action is to cover it with another layer of plaster. You might have asbestos in insulation (but it’s unlikely), if you have ceiling tiles anywhere you might check them but generally speaking don’t worry to much- it’s estimated that 50 % of houses have some asbestos and it causes no harm as it’s usually in such small quantities and rarely dislodged....See MoreJonathan
