water resistant?

I am curious about installing a preserved plant art piece, instead of a living wall, near the shower in my master bath. While the piece would not be getting "rained on" it would be a warm, moist environment and it may get occasionally splashed. Would this situation be detrimental to the piece?

Hi Jamie, unfortunately a moist environment is detrimental to preserved plants. We do not recommend installing in regularly moist environments. Thanks for your question!

Hi. I'm from the UK, but have some comments for you. hope they help? Check to see if the previous owners had applied for and gained the appropriate building code approvals. It could be that you have insufficient under floor insulation if the floor is always cold. With the reduced ceiling height in the photos, I'd look to install at least a little floor insulation between you and the concrete slab below, even though this may reduce your head height more. You could also consider relocating your small bore hot/ cold pipework internally, sounds like you have harsh winters and without appropriate insulation, they could keep freezing. I always suggest speaking to a local professional, particularly in this case, they will likely have some insightful ideas. Hope that helps?

We stock all Quick Step boards and try to be as impartial as we can, to give you more informed perspective the 12mm range is classed as the product of choice for areas of high traffic and can be used in commercial premises so is designed to take the maximum amount of traffic. To give you an idea the 12mm board has a 10 year commerial warranty. Another consideration you might have is how level your concrete subfloor is/ or other subfloor heights. You might want to consider the thicker laminate as this in itself can provide a more rigid board and therefore offer more stability. If you are dealing with a busy family household the 8mm board is still designed to take a lot of traffic, the 8mm laminate still has a 5 year commercial warranty. Both boards will have the same waterproof protection and will look the exact same in appearance. If you felt the 8mm would give you less of a height difference where it would meet any surfaces of a different height you might see less of a difference going from one surface to the other. If you felt the subfloor was quite uneven then you would definitely need to be looking at the thicker 5mm underlays (most come in the board form) to help even any discrepancies.
