Desperately need bedroom ideas ..
Comments (29)What a wonderful space...first things first. I would get rid of the small readiator, looks completely wrong. How about a darker colour being added to this wall, as it will complement and pull the room together? Also today you can get sooo many copies of old 4-poster beds or maybe even a modern one, especially as you have the height in the room and this room is just right for a 4-poster! The bedside tables could be painted/paint washed in the same colour as whatever bed you decide to get. Also as I cannot see the entire room, a couple of big armoires would look fantastic, but make sure that they compliment the colour of the bed. Throw one or more Persian carpets down. Add a one or two check of drawers + a desk + a couple of chairs with a small round table between them. Chairs, desk, check of drawers would look great French/Swedish style (have a look at Swoon and Alison at Home). Finally chose you fusions and bed throw, best is to compliment the colour of painted wall behind bed! You have sooo much room in here you could have a ball...and I hope you do...whatever you chose to do, good luck... :) PS! Don't forget a nice big mirror to compliment the furniture... :)...See MoreBedroom ideas
Comments (3)How about toile de jouy fabric for the curtains or toile de jouy wallpaper and plain blue drapes? A corner shelf with cheap bits of blue and white plates, jugs etc (junk shops/ auctions). Another idea would be to use a good french ticking (striped) fabric as a blind with full plain curtains tied back (would look like a canopy over the bedhead. A complimentary striped wallpaper on the end wall would tie it together....See MoreIdeas needed for my Master Bedroom
Comments (14)What a pretty room! How ornate do you want to go? How about a dado rail and panelling (look up "faux wainscoting" for a budget friendly DIY solution) in the same colour as the door frames and skirting, to go really old school and elegant? That sort of look suits a statement armchair perched in a corner. As others have said, that floral wallpaper/fabric is great in a bedroom (I think). In an adult bedroom, I'd go a bit nuts with this stuff, frankly. Easy enough to change if you decide to tone it down a bit. If you do it above some classic panelling, it would ameliorate the look. Otherwise, perhaps cool rustic luxury. Matt black lamps, brass, white marble, a stripped brick internal wall (messy but cheap to do). By the way, I am exactly in the same boat as you. We are just finishing the renovation of a Victorian house, and our master suite is the bit that needs to be finished. If it helps, I am genuinely torn between the two looks below. My wife prefers option one - she is a US east coaster, used to funky lofts and DC/NY chic. I like option two - I'm British and grew up with friends whose parents had rambling period country houses full of clutter and slightly bonkers decor, with the odd Spaniel ambling around. Option one: go cool. Option two: go big....See MoreWhat colour for bedroom’s chimney breast?
Comments (41)I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!...See Moreminnie101
