bathroom tiles - silicone or not
Comments (15)Agree with the Silicone, however, obviously this should not be between tiles, it goes around the edges to stop water where it's harder to get grout right in, and to stop water ingress under baths, down the edges of baths, at the back of sinks around showers etc. Some of the pics look like you have silicone in between tiles where it should be just grout. Re:- The beading - If you're going to have beading, it has to be right along the stairs not just one part of it. I suspect, that the walls were not quite level, ( they never are ), so to combat this, they've put a bead on, but it needs continuing up the stairs. You also should not be able to see screw heads like that. Looks like round head screws have been used. Wood screws are flat on top and pull in to the wood, then you come along with a little bit of caulk . filler, hid the screw heads and paint. They need to change them, looks terrible....See Moreloft bedroom - painting the floorboards
Comments (15)Worked out for our room size it will likely cost us about £300 for a cheap laminate excluding underlay and fitting. Can fit most of it ourselves I guess to save money and just get our joiner to do the fiddly bits. We have about 22sqm - if I stuck with the painted floor option then what primer do you recommend ie to stop any knots from coming through. Just a standard knot block primer/sealer? Floor paint wise, any good ones that are durable or am I best having a quick drying floor paint with a top coat of polyurethane varnish on top to make it easier to wash/keep clean? White is a bit of a pain. Carpet does sound so easy and the fastest option but I hate browns and creams and bore d of pale grey so no idea what colour would work with every colour scheme. We also have allergies so worry about carpet being a dust attractor :/...See Morehow to pipe this RAD in?
Comments (14)Oo, never thought about running it up into the ceiling! There are some existing pipes capped in the middle of where our back wall was which had a rad on ie so in line with that brick nib but maybe 1.5 further away. They can extend them up to the nib which is suspended floor and then they could go up the wall or across the wall maybe? Not sure what size pipes he would be using but I’ve got a new guy coming Monday at 7am to sort it for me. I wanted to work it out beforehand in case I needed to do any prep work so he’s not held up as he is only here for an hour or so :0/...See MoreUnder stairs drawer/shelves
Comments (61)Funnily enough I was just thinking about kitchen artwork. My sis got custody of decorating with big Banksys so I'm not allowed any of that ;-) I do like this artist https://www.google.com/search?q=Georgia+Cox+artist&client=ms-android-vf-gb-revc&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiY_-zgvsriAhUoRBUIHaHeCoEQ_AUoAXoECA8QAQ&biw=360&bih=657 But originals might be a bit much for the kitchen (and my budget!)...See Moreraul_breganzo
