what colour to paint my decking?
Comments (0)Struggling to find inspiration as to what colour to paint / stain my decking - our garden is directly north facing (although not too bad as have long garden) as such this patch directly behind doesn’t get a huge deal of sun so ideally we’d prefer a light colour....See MoreDecking choice - what compliments indoor wooden flooring
Comments (8)Unless you are going for hardwood decking, I wouldn’t have it. It is slippery when wet and softwood decking starts to rot after a few years. Mine is 8 years old and starting to rot in one corner. I was considering composite decking until I found several bad reviews of it, mainly in the US. It tends to show wear and flaking within 10 years and it warps. In fact Trex is being sued by many customers in the US as the product is not maintenance free and does not last 25 years. Have a read on www.thecraftsmanblog.com. However, outdoor grade porcelain seems a better bet? It comes in wood effect or tile and is non slip. It has a very modern feel if that is the look you’re after. Worth a look?...See Morehot tub on decking or paving?
Comments (0)Looking for advice on what material to sit a hot tub on? We have an as yet ‘unlandscaped’ area of the garden adjacent to the garage wall. Photo attached. Have recently had the garage wall rendered in white and now has 3 wall lights and power outlet so seems a good location for the hot tub. The ground is slightly higher next to garage as is on a slope running down to the patio where the photo is taken from which is next to the house. Was thinking possibly composite decking to mix up the materials as we have 2 patio areas already. One in silver sandstone and one in grey slate. Is either a better option for weight of a hot tub? Thanks...See MoreWhat colour to paint the Pergola with dark brown decking?
