how to hang the oars

you cant see the way the oars were hung and I wonder how they did it. I have 2 to hang outside on a barn, any ideas?

Hello I believe there were hooks on the back of the oars.

They usually come with metal chains don't they? Therefore, if you were able to find a joist in the ceiling above, you can put a hook in to it to hang the chain from.

Perhaps you can glue rings on the back? Like in this article, they used D rings to make invisible hanging thingies (technical term) for plates http://rockinredesigns.blogspot.com/2012/09/making-plate-wall.html For less heavy ornaments there must be something smaller available. I seem to remember there are paper stick on things with a triangular ‘ring’? Or is that my memory playing tricks?

Hang it on strap hangers. You attach the hooks to the wall (which involves careful measuring) and the straps to the back of the sides of the frame. The only way of removing it is to physically lift the weight of the picture to get it off the wall. You could also temporarily replace the glass with acrylic.
