Copper pendant lights

Have tried lots of different bulbs in copper pendants and they all appear to reflect the copper and though this gives a lovely glow it's not the bright light I need for over the island

Hi There,

If your pendants take a E27 screw bulb perhaps opt for something that throws the light forwards like a spotlight bulb in LED.

Look out for the highest lumen level you can find as lumens = light. I'd say anything higher that 1000 lm. I've attached a link to a website that may help you. And whilst these are not cheap light bulbs they should give a good light are it's directing the light forward and not back into the metal shade part. It's what I would have if I had the same problem as you are describing.

Often if you go to into an electrical wholesalers they can show you the light bulbs working and give a direct comparison. Supermarkets and sheds don't. Specialist are worth speaking to and supporting as they often ensure you get the right thing first time.

The brass from the lights, copper taps and stainless steel sink maybe too much, and especially so if your switches/sockets are a different finish like polished chrome ... The copper tap could work with a SS sink if you can add copper accents elsewhere and limit the finishes to the two.

I think maybe Granite in the standard colours is actually quite a dated product. I know that people still use it. Maybe i'm more against it as i've lived with ours for nearly 20 years. The granite was very expensive and although we've changed units, we haven't changed the work top. I know my wife hates it, as it's pure black and hard to keep shiny. We've got a beautiful pale silestone ( polar cap ) in our new house, if we ever get there. Have to sell this one first, and this side of Brexit just isn't happening!! Good luck with your project.

Thanks Alison, I thought they were. They look beautiful. Do you know if the length is adjustable? Was looking at three pendants but I think the two may be perfect. Thanks

Hi if you buy the pendants as a unit you only get a metre of flex so we bought all components separately which I do believe worked out cheaper!
