Wallpaper advice for 3 childrens' feature wall in bedroom
Comments (8)what about colouring in wallpaper = hrs of peace & quiet and a lovely privilege for kids to draw on their walls! http://www.spoonflower.com/wallpaper/3041169 or http://www.burpboutique.com/products/colour-in-wallpaper?variant=137307502. So many different ones out there and what better feature for the kids. Granted, not easy on the adult eye necessarily but something the kids will never forget. I always remember thinking how cool my mum was for letting me paint a rainbow mural on my bedroom wall hen i was about 11yrs old!...See MoreMagnolia with grey feature wall (Bedroom)??
Comments (20)Personally I would not pair grey with magnolia, consider looking at a different colour to contrast with...to emphasise and bring out the undertones in the grey. Or you could paint the room a mid grey, and use a feature wallpaper behind the bed to add impact. Also be warned that you need to know what undertone is in the grey to know what it will pair well with! Good luck look forward to seeing the results! If it was my room, I think I'd paint the room in a mid grey and do a feature wall behind the bed with a patterned wallpaper that references the grey - some examples attached - http://eu.farrow-ball.com/drag-dr-1283/drag/farrow-ball/fcp-product/201283 Or http://eu.farrow-ball.com/drag-dr-1280/drag/farrow-ball/fcp-product/201280 or I love the drama in this http://www.cole-and-son.com/en/collection-curio/wallpaper-107/3016/ would work with a dark grey room.... http://www.cole-and-son.com/en/collection-curio/wallpaper-107/4017/... http://www.cole-and-son.com/en/collection-geometric/wallpaper-93/7026/, http://www.cole-and-son.com/en/collection-geometric/wallpaper-93/7025/ Tailor your soft furnishings then to complement any colours that come through in your wallpaper feature....See MoreDo you have a feature wall in your bedroom?
Comments (14)We have a feature wall in Gatsby Blue but to mix things up a bit it's the wall beside our bed, not behind the headboard. The headboard is against the window for the sake of better traffic in the room. The other walls are a lightish grey which looks well with our charcoal headboard as well as bouncing some light around compared to the deep blue. The light reflected from the blue onto the grey makes the grey look slightly blue toned which is the actual colour I would choose if it weren't a joint decision. So it's win win....See MoreBedroom - curtains with this feature wallpaper
Comments (9)Thank you Sonia and Rachel! Sonia, those pictures are really helpful. I love the idea of velvet for the curtains, it makes a plain colour a bit more interesting. Thank you! Rachel, yes we wanted something really bold on one wall. It's quite a small area because we have a fairly low picture rail, and the bed will cover some of it. We're having two white floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes opposite, either side of a chimney breast, and we'll paint the walls a soft colour to match a shade in the paper. It's just this big bay window I'm not sure about - basically one whole wall is window and curtains (it's a typical master bedroom in a 1930s 3 bed semi). Plain seems boring but pattern will be difficult with the wallpaper......See MoreJane Reed
