I've always wondered whether it's just me who enjoys colour coded stationary, the odd novelty mug and a trusty comfy jumper by my desk (I work better when I'm cosy!)

So I'd love to know what you have on, in and around your desk space. Do you keep it minimal with only the essentials on show or are you like me - organised but not always tidy.

If you like red and white but don't like "casual" go with red-and-white Toile -de-Jouie curtains, upholstry, or cushion covers. It gives a lighter, airier feel than unbroken expanses of red. For contrast, accessorice with pastel mint green, or pale blue, with touches of gold or brass. Works well with light or dark woods.

Actually whilst on the subject... has anyone else here tried the indoor / outdoor style rug or mat for their living room? Although not as comfy as a traditional rug they're now available in tons of styles and are a popular option for those of us with cats... Apparently our hairy scratch happy pals aren't too fond of the material.

Those that dare post on here have some stunning views!! I cannot compete!! Unless I use a holiday snap from some far off land!!!!! So I have just put my milky coffee down and taken a pic on my iPad out the window.... as it is today!! The leaves are falling - no real colour in the garden except a splash of pink from the narines... but it is work in progress and I enjoy my garden. Some lovely views from others, thank you.

When I ran a business from home, I had a huge desk and it was always full of junk and I had what I used to call "a lasagna" approach to paperwork, it just used to be in layers. I'd put papers to one side, and then put more papers to the same one side, and then more and more. It was the worlds most untidy desk.

Consequently, I certainly wasn't something I wanted to preserve for posterity in a photo. LOL
